Pretty sure they just replied to all LOI emails lol. I wouldn't look too much into it, as long as everyone received the same response .
 
I don't know if anyone else clarified this but I just called and checked -- recently admitted students have 2 weeks to PTE, but have until July 5th to CTE. Other than the background check we just wait for our admissions packet to arrive to figure out what the next steps are. Hope this helps!

I was also going to call them but I guess I don't need anymore. Did you ask any questions about when we will get our financial aid information?
 
Can anybody post the phone number they got the acceptance call from so I can stop having a heart attack every time I see an 813 number calling me?

Keep answering 813 calls because the callers are different and all have different numbers.

Yes! Look up on Facebook USF MCOM class of 2025, answer the questions it asks you once you click to join, and then you have to wait till an admin accepts you into the group.
 
I just got a call saying the Dean is making me commit to enroll by next Wednesday or else they will withdraw my acceptance. How is that allowed??? I am still on one other waitlist that I am considering and thought we had until July 5

Oh geeze. This seems like pretty bad news for those of us who are still on the WL. Gonna force people into committing because obv most people aren’t going to gamble and wait for their other WL school to decide. Doesn’t seem fair for anybody.

That doesn't seem fair or right based on my understanding of CTE and PTE! Do you mind me asking if you're SELECT or CORE, maybe that has something to do with it? I'm also currently PTE here but waiting on another WL... I'm kinda nervous now lol.

On the phone they made it seem like it was only for certain people. They mentioned they already rescinded peoples acceptances because they could not commit. I feel like they aren’t allowed to single individuals out! I understand if they change the CTE for everyone, but I did not get them from the call. I asked for an extension because I am visiting end of May and they said they would tru but could not guarantee I would not lose my acceptance by then. I feel like I’m being forced to pick between USF or no Med school at all. I already declined my other acceptances for them.

Select. Called me at 11:15 this morning and said the Dean is having them call people to give them new commit to enroll deadlines

Dang that sounds so strange... Maybe this is a SELECT thing because it's a smaller group? I have no idea, just guessing here. Thanks for letting us know though and I hope you are able to figure this out, that sounds like a tough situation :/
 
I haven't been called and I'm SELECT. I haven't even PTE. Still within the two weeks to decide between Morsani and the other school I am currently PTE at
 
how long does it usually take for them to approve your request to join the fb group?
 
So...I've seen this mentioned in last years thread but does anyone know know how serious they are with the laptop requirements? I have one that meets all the specs but I bought it two years ago. They require you buy it after August 2020(& provide proof)...it would feel silly to get a whole new one just because of that.

Just a personal anecdote but I think they are strict with screen size and spec (the 2.4 GHz processing speed) where if your laptop is too small or too slow, they will make you buy a new one. As for purchase date, they didn’t check my laptop receipt or any laptop receipt as far as I know. Could they get stricter next year though? Very possible.

Also very random tech tips. For using Canvas, EVERYTHING is under modules and organized based on weeks. Don’t click anything other than modules because the other tabs have zero organization whatsoever. Second, if you’re using a windows surface book/surface anything, make sure you get a USB-C to usb-A HUB not a converter. You’ll use a software called SonoSim and only the hub works with that software.
 
To any current students, what is the latest time that we should sign a lease for an apartment? I know students are still committing to USF, but I haven't found a roommate yet and half of the people I contacted already found one... So sort of panicking lol

Is anyone able to view their financial aid/ loans? I completed my fafsa 2 weeks ago but can't see any approved loans on MyUsf.

All that is visible right now is the federal unsubsized loan which is the one you get from filling out the fafsa. The grad plus loan is still not visible. I did my fafsa in like January or February so I can see the unsub loan in my financial aid. Maybe they are still processing yours in the usf system?
