There’s the Foundation Scholarships that everyone can apply too. There’s also scholarships given out by the scholarship committee but you don’t apply for that, they just give it to individual students but it’s kinda a mystery how it works because they never say exactly what prompts them to give it to some students and not to others apparently. Idk if there’s need based scholarships given out though..

All that is visible right now is the federal unsubsized loan which is the one you get from filling out the fafsa. The grad plus loan is still not visible. I did my fafsa in like January or February so I can see the unsub loan in my financial aid. Maybe they are still processing yours in the usf system?
Yeah I can't see my federal unsubsidized loan. Maybe it's still processing since I submitted only 2 weeks ago. I'll probably just call financial aid to make sure.

Just a personal anecdote but I think they are strict with screen size and spec (the 2.4 GHz processing speed) where if your laptop is too small or too slow, they will make you buy a new one. As for purchase date, they didn’t check my laptop receipt or any laptop receipt as far as I know. Could they get stricter next year though? Very possible.

Also very random tech tips. For using Canvas, EVERYTHING is under modules and organized based on weeks. Don’t click anything other than modules because the other tabs have zero organization whatsoever. Second, if you’re using a windows surface book/surface anything, make sure you get a USB-C to usb-A HUB not a converter. You’ll use a software called SonoSim and only the hub works with that software.
Is there any demanding or intensive applications you run as a student? Or are laptops just for taking notes? I'm thinking about going for a cheaper laptop since I already have a gaming pc.

Having a varying CTE for different people within the same program (MSTP, CORE, SELECT) seems *very* sketchy, if true.

EDIT: Seems like the earlier CTE date is applying to all SELECT folks? Which is within their rights since it's applied to everyone within that one program.
IF this is true, this violates the AAMC Guidelines that programs should not require applicants to CTE more than 3-4 weeks prior to the matriculation date? Did they delineate this in the MSAR and on their CYMS website guidelines?

From what I understood from upperclassmen, apparently there are demanding applications so that is why the RAM memory requirement is so high. They also said that each year we use around 10GB of memory.

Please do PM me if you received this type of phone call and whether the conversation referenced a need to CTE early for some reason (ie. scholarship, Dean changing date, etc.) I will not identify you to the program in any way.

Just want to point out that USF can avoid any more controversy by just giving the rest of the A’s off WL to people who sent LOI’s/aren’t holding multiple acceptances..... #JustSayin

Anyways, has anyone accepted on April 30 gotten their acceptance mail package or their unsubsidized Federal loan (aka "scholarship")yet?

Please consider deleting your post. It reeks of insensitivity and entitlement, along with the fact that you're calling someone out using very specific demographic information which could make this person easily identifiable to any of this person's classmates, thus singling them out and belittling their accomplishments in an extremely rude way.

They do not provide tablets, unless there is some new policy for the incoming class.

If I want to work for a non-profit hospital or multi-speciality clinic so that I can treat both the insured and uninsured in the area, what would that be under? I thought it would be public health because it is serving the community so serving the public. I was not sure though. If anyone else could clarify that would be great!
Probably academic medicine. That’s usually what they want to hear to, rather than private. Private has a negative stigma of just wanting to get that bread, bc academic medicine always pays less

It's over y'all. Just got a full rejection email from the WL. Best of luck next year!

Was this for select? I’m assuming I haven’t gotten one yet because core doesn’t start for another week.

I received my WL rejection after I resubmitted my secondary 🙂

Hey everyone! Congrats on being accepted. USF is an amazing school and I have loved my experience thus far. I am a second year Select student and I am moving in with my partner so am looking to sell my lease on my hyde park rental. It's an amazing place, great value, close to everything etc. DM me if you are looking for a place! 1200, one bedroom, one bath. Plenty of space for 1-2 people.
wait, what?!
