yes it was quite jarring especially when she had just talked so passionately about serving the underserved
Yeah like she could have easily segued into the mentoring programs offered by nova/students for HS Stem students in underserved areas and she chose to say that.. her delivery/wording was so bad in my opinion

No everything is on gpa scale. I believe a 95 counts as an A.

Yeah, the grading scale had become a bit competitive after 2018. This is a screenshot from the student handbook.

Are we able to select which campus we would prefer to attend (Davie vs Tampa?)

Admin stated that the location you applied to on AACOMAS would be your first location upon acceptance. They do allow people to request a switch and they said that "90% of the time everybody ends up where they wanted to be". So if you get the A, make your deposit and request the campus. They won't allow you to request until you make the necessary deposit first.

Anybody from this cycle get accepted from being an alternate or does anyone from previous cycles have any input?

I was alternate listed last cycle and got a call in July saying I was next to come off the list. No one dropped so I applied again, only to get another early interview and early alternate list placement.

out of curiosity, how did your interview go both times? I’m wondering like what differentiates between an A and alternate

So sorry you went through that :/. Hopefully this time you get in🫶

I thought the first was good, the second okay. It was my first in person interview this year so perhaps I was slightly unprepared. My ECs and letters improved a good amount since last year.

Did you send letter of intent/ interest or updates while on the waitlist?

I have started withdrawing my "A"s from other schools and left with NOVA and NYITCOM. Does anyone have thoughts as to which one would be a better option? I am hearing concerns about NOVA board scores and more competition for residency due to the "new" MD school.

You will be competing for an ACGME residency spot in the same pot with all US medical school seniors (DO + MD) + reapplicants from the previous year + IMGs. Your USMLE/COMLEX score + shelf exam scores at clinical rotations + letters + dean's letter + GPA + research, etc. will be the decision-making criteria, not that you attended NYIT over NSU because NSU has both DO and MD schools.

Having cleared that out of the way, now it's up to you if you'd prefer to live in southern FL for 4 years or up at the northeast on Long Island.

I’d say nyitcom

Hello. I am a current M2 at the TBR campus. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Any lower-end stat ppl get the A? I interviewed with a 503 and 3.8cGPA/3.78sGPA but worried my mcat will get me WL’d/R’d.. is it safe to say if the interview went well/my faculty members liked me I have a good shot at an A?
anecdotal, but i know an M2 here that got accepted with a 504 and similar gpa as you

I was waitlisted with a 502 and 3.72 cGPA, but I’ll be pulling my A from here since I was accepted to VCOM-VA. Good luck to everyone!

I just got the A with the same MCAT and lower GPA. I think if you’ve interviewed already they’ve decided your stats are A-worthy

for everyone that got accepted, did you have significant volunteer/ underserved experience? they seemed to have emphasized that a lot

Idk what you mean by "significant." I had about 100 hours of clinical volunteer and 100 hours of non-clinical

Anyone know if KPCOM accepts pass fail prerequisites for non-covid semesters?

Just got my rejection email after MONTHS of not hearing from them. Plus the lady I talked to yesterday was incredibly rude. Anybody have a similar experience?
