6-8 weeks but a lot of people have been hearing back around the 15th of the month after they interviewed.
Okay gotcha! I was going to send a thank you note but I cannot find the email for the faculty member who emailed me. Can I send this to the admissions office instead?

I was told to send it to admissions and they’d forward to whoever they needed to!

Has anyone heard back who interviewed in the beginning of February?
Decisions come out pretty consistently on the 15th of the month after you interview. Only if someone is a super-lock and they interviewed at the very beginning of the month would they accept them on the 15th of the same month. If you interviewed at the beginning of February, expect to hear something on or soon after March 15. Generally, if you don't get a call on the 15th for acceptance, expect a waitlist in the mail in the following days.

So people who were interviewed March 1st or 2nd wouldn’t hear back until April 15th?

Right, I think that the April 15th date will be the last date that follows that timeline, though. At this point, all of the interviews have finished, so everyone will have to be either accepted or waitlisted by April 15th. After April 15th, people will come off the waitlist at any time whenever an accepted student commits elsewhere.

Okay that makes sense. Hopefully I hear that acceptance call back

Hi Guys I have a question, I submitted my general secondary app in July but I still haven’t heard back. I picked the SELECT program in my II but should I be expecting another secondary based on the program I chose ? Or once you submit your general II you just wait for an interview (if they decide to give you an interview) ? Please help

I applied for CORE but I only had to fill out one secondary (the general secondary you’re referring to) and had no correspondence till my Interview invite in January.

Just some info, not sure it'll be helpful to anyway, but...

I ended up not submitting my secondary here and got email yesterday that I hadn't gotten my materials in so I couldn't be considered for an interview. So sounds like they're closing things out.

Correct. The only post-IV communication we accept is a letter of intent.
Should we send the letter of intent after the interview or once we get our decision back? I understood it as after we get our post interview decision so just want to double check!

so waitlist movement begins mid march or mid april? someone said march earlier but last year's thread was april

anyone else still not seeing their USF Morsani acceptance on the Choose Your Medical School Tool?

Do you know if they still send II or that was it for this cycle?

I believe that’s it. I asked if I could reschedule my interview and they told me they were entirely booked up as the cycle was coming to a close. Sorry :/

this changes year to year. it's largely dependent on when your fellow applicants drop their As, usually correlates with the end of April since that's when PTE/CTE starts. I would guess this year it will be late April/early May (which is was for me during my cycle)

Hey! So my interview is coming up and I’m trying to prepare for it as much as I can right now, and I wanted to know, is there any specific criteria on which admissions decides to accept or reject candidates? I heard the interview is about getting to know you, and the biggest reason for rejection is that you’re going into a “sales pitch” rather than giving the interviewers a good idea about who you are. Would you say that that’s the biggest reason for rejection or waitlisting students at USF or is there something else that happens during the interview that causes rejection or waitlisting?

Obviously be prepared to answer questions about yourself, why medicine, etc.. all the traditional questions, but as with any school, the purpose of the interview is to evaluate you as an individual: your character, critical thinking, ability to connect with people and carry a conversation. They've read your application and secondary. They have a pretty good feel for who you are on paper. Its not a sales pitch, but don't be afraid to provide updates and talk about yourself. Just don't sound rote. That being said, the interview had some interesting questions that I had not gotten before in other interviews. So just be okay thinking on your feet. Hope this helps :)

Thank you! My interview is in a week so I’m kind of anxious about what to expect. What would you say is the question or are the questions or even an aspect of the interview itself that caught you off guard the most or that you really had to sit and think about before responding? I heard some people talking about the ethical dilemma questions, were those the most difficult or was there something else they asked that you couldn’t answer with as much ease?
Unfortunately I cannot say, as is a directive by the interview process, but mine at least had no ethical dilemmas. Your best sources would be SDN interview feedback page. But just take a deep breath and relax. Its pretty standard. Nothing really threw me off, but as 4-HT said, a couple "spicy ones", and it would defeat the purpose.

I got you, thank you! I found a lot of questions on the SDN interview feedback page so I’ll practice with those and hopefully it’ll help.

There may be a handful of questions you may find challenging, but others may not (and vice versa). It really is a pretty standard traditional interview. Maybe a couple "spicy" questions so to speak.

Kinda defeats the purpose of the interview if you are able to prepare all of your answers beforehand.
I get you, I was able to find quite a few of the interview questions on the SDN interview feedback page so I’ll practice with those. Thank you for the response.

In the past few years no one on SDN has reported a core A after January so it could just be everyone getting waitlisted

I think it depends. Some of the medical students I messaged for interview questions interviewed in March and still ended up getting in for CORE without the waitlist.

Yea USF is on spring break right now so I’m not sure how that affects admissions

So I just read that there are no classes for spring break but the offices are still open.
