any students who have been accepted with a sub 500 MCAT, can I ask a question?

What's the chances @ Burrel if they didn't give interview yet

Is it worth to wait another 2 weeks for interview or it's better to star Caribbean Med school

Interviews are closed. I would also be cautious about Caribbean medical schools too due to their high attrition rates and lesser chance of matching into a U.S residency program.

Agreed. From everything I've heard and read from Caribbean students, it should be a last resort, even after applying several cycles, try to increase your MCAT score (if that's a factor), and improve any sections in your application that might be lacking. Even a master's or SMP that could improve the application. (with a high GPA)

If you do all this and you still can't get into a US med school after several cycles, then it could be a possible option. But this is going off of what I have heard from several different sources. Also, like HemeOncology said, it's harder to match into a US residency from the Caribbean.

Thanks everyone. It's good to know interviews are closed at BCOM for this upcoming classes in 2 weeks.

O ok

If anyone who just got accepted is looking for last-minute housing, please DM me! I have a really good lease on a 1 bed/1 bath apartment less than 5 min from campus that's ready for move-in (I can transfer the lease and the pricing to you), at discount because I signed it early!
which school you accepted and where did you withdraw from ?

Best of luck to you at whichever school you go to :) which campus location are you referring to for the apartment?

Whoops didn’t realize I didn’t specify - the seat I withdrew from was at the NM campus! Now headed to the PNW!

Nice, congrats!! Still waiting over here.. chances are slim, but they said they will be accepting up until next Friday (3 days before orientation) 😅

When was your II and WL decision?
I got the decision from WCU two weeks ago and committed because I had lost all hope in BCOM. The pros of BCOM are that it's close to home (CA), I'm big on family, and I am a POC, so it's more diverse. The cons are tuition and the fact that I spent money on WCU already + starting school way sooner than anticipated.

Congrats! How long ago was your WL decision for Burrell? And did you already put down deposit at WCU?

Until the morning of orientation or when? Orientation for them starts Monday, July 15th

Do any current students know of anybody who has transferred from Burrell to other US DO schools? Is the school more understanding of such situations or have students faced backlash?
being able to transfer is infinitesimally rare. If any DO schools take transfer, it is usually after 2nd year and you have already passed Comlex I
