I know in last years thread, people who received A calls later in the day had a drop down menu with different forms (HIPAA and profile pic) by this time

If you were interviewed between September to mid-November, you will receive a notification regarding your status in December. If you were interviewed mid-November to January, you will receive a notification by the end of March. As a reminder, you will need to log into your applicant portal to view the decision letter. If you have questions, you may contact us at: [email protected] or call us at 919-962-8331.

Have there been applicants who were notified before 2PM in prior years?

I am wondering if they will just release decisions December 15 since it’s a nice round number (also because they have been doing things so differently this year).

What else have they changed?

It seems like secondaries were sent out later (likely due to the Supreme Court decision) and notifications didn’t start mid-October this year (I know someone who heard back mid-October last year). Minor change: but I think the student panel used to be required!

UNC had a tough year. They had some stuff going on in the beginning of the year with the supreme court decision and then the shooting and some added stress with moving into the new building..
I agree—I talked to the MED Program coordinator and they were also affected by these events (I’m assuming they work fairly closely with UNC SOM admissions)

Another reason I think decisions may be released December 15 is due to the fact that they wrote “All applicants will be notified of their application status by the end of December (interview, no interview, and under review).” Generally when it’s a mass update situation, schools tend to pick the 1st or 15th (from my observations).

But also, this is just my speculation so don’t quote me on it 😆

Would they really do it on a Friday? People will have questions about deposits, etc. and I doubt the bursar office/finaid wants to be swamped on their last day before the weekend

did some people have a student for their traditional interviewer?
Yes! Some of my friends had 4th years. I had a very specific faculty (when I saw her name for my interview, I froze up so I’m not sure if I did well or not)
