Anyone know the protocol for sending thank you’s after interview? I forgot to ask my interviewer at the end but I do know his email from the calendar invite.
I got an email the afternoon of my interview day describing their protocol 🙂! But I basically just sent the thank you letters directly to my interviewer’s email from the calendar invite.Anyone know the protocol for sending thank you’s after interview? Yeah I haven’t gotten the A letter eitherI saw that some of the WLed people got letters in the mail but I still haven't gotten my A letter, anyone else in the same boat?

I never got this email eitherWhat was their protocol? I had my interview already and got no such email![]()
Haha fair question, I applied once, didn't get in anywhere, had some other adventures and came back to try again.Unrelated question, but how are you a 15 year member on this site as a current M4?
Thanks for coming on! I've got a question about the tech requirements. Will we be required to buy any specific devices like iPads or anything along those lines?Current M4 in SELECT here, happy to answer any questions about the school/program. Congrats to all accepted so far, and hang in there to everyone else. I got in off the waitlist and have been very happy with my experience.
There are pretty specific laptop requirements that are actually enforced, and you can find those in the file attached to this post, or here: Onboarding | USF HealthThanks for coming on! Getting more and more anxious about not receiving mine. I may call them this week if it passes with no letter again.Letter received in mail today. SELECT, call received Fri 11/17.
Lmao I bought a laptop last year (MacBook Air M2) with the hope I would get in last year. There are pretty specific laptop requirements that are actually enforced, and you can find those in the file attached to this post, or here: Onboarding | USF Health
Note that it says the laptop must have been purchased within one year of starting the MD program, so even if you have a nice laptop from undergrad they might not accept it.
You do need a privacy screen on your laptop for exams. I had one that I could stick on for each exam and then remove. They also have spare ones at each exam so I guess you could get away with not buying your own.
Other than that I don't recall any other required tech. Something could have changed in the past few years though.
Same. When did you receive your call?Getting more and more anxious about not receiving mine. I may call them this week if it passes with no letter again.

You can join one of the scholarly concentration groups if you want to. It's typically just Core students though. I have an interest in med ed so I would go to the meetings but didn't officially join the group (didn't want to commit to doing a project).Hi! Does SELECT also do concentrations? Or is it just the separate capstone project in SELECT domains? I’m having trouble finding the information on what the SELECT domains are on the website as well. Thanks!
I don't know how tightly they enforce the 1-year thing, maybe a newer student can share some info on that. Seems like it would be hard to enforce (can't see them asking for your receipt or credit card statement, for example, haha).Buying a laptop within 1 year seems crazy to me. I have a perfectly good laptop that I bought last year and is still technically the newest model, so buying a new one wouldn’t change anything… Do they actually enforce the 1 year old part?
Hey Bre I just got on the waitlist from an interview on Oct 13th, when was your interview and when did you get off the waitlist?Current M4 in SELECT here, happy to answer any questions about the school/program. I interviewed very late, March 16th. Got off the waitlist in June.Hey Bre I just got on the waitlist from an interview on Oct 13th, when was your interview and when did you get off the waitlist?
this happened to me too, I selected CORE only on my app and I got asked to interview for select. figured that it was either select or nothing so I just went w it but not sure if anyone knows if you can interview for both. they seem to funnel a lot of OOS into selectSELECT II OOS (? i think) submitted 10/7, i didn’t apply for select tho ???
Got an OOS WL earlier this month, does anyone have any idea if USF has a good amount of WL movement?
The wording of my II made it seem like my app would be in the R pile if I didn’t accept the SELECT II. You could ask the admissions team, though.does anyone know what happens if you say not to select and that you would prefer core?
I guess if you already have an acceptance at another school you like more than USF Select, you could take the risk & say that.does anyone know what happens if you say not to select and that you would prefer core?
that’s kinda where i’m at. i have an A to a school i would prefer to select. i applied to USF for the core program specifically and the opportunities in core as well as the location (i have family in tampa and it’s a few hours drive from where my parents are) and i don’t think i would want to move to tampa then go to allentown.I guess if you already have an acceptance at another school you like more than USF Select, you could take the risk & say that.
Yolo it. Use that emory A to get what you want😤😤😤that’s kinda where i’m at. i have an A to a school i would prefer to select. i applied to USF for the core program specifically and the opportunities in core as well as the location (i have family in tampa and it’s a few hours drive from where my parents are) and i don’t think i would want to move to tampa then go to allentown.
would you write to say you would prefer core and why or would you mention the A as well?

I got an OOS II and I think I only chose Core. I'm not interested in Allentown PA, or in moving across the country to uproot myself yet again to finish the second half of med school. I am, however, interested in USF Morsani's campus in Tampa FL and all of the attendant opportunities located there.does anyone know what happens if you say not to select and that you would prefer core?

I’m in the same boat, I haven’t gotten my letter yet. I’ll prob give it another week?So I'm freaking out just a little... I got the A call on 11/15 (or at least I really thought I did), but I still haven't received the actual letter yet in the mail. How long did it take y'all to get the letter from interview/call? I logged on to the applicant portal, but it does not seem to be updated with the acceptance stuff. Would just like some visual/written confirmation that I did indeed get accepted and didn't just hallucinate the whole thing lol... should I contact the admissions office to ask them to resend the letter?
I was offered a core II, never a select II. Hmm, I wonder how their process works…did you get a core II or were you offered the select II and said no.
i also didn’t apply to select for the same reasons basically but i was offered a select II today
I wouldn't stress so much over this. Just email them and I'm sure they'll understand. It's not rude to ask why you got an interview for the program you didn't apply to lol. If anything, Just use this as practice incase you get an interview to one of your top choices. Congratulations and enjoy the success!well from my googling and whatnot i think i may be one of the first people to say no to select and ask to be considered for core, i’ll let y’all know how it goes. grateful to be in a position that allows me to take this risk haha

I picked up mine on Sunday (not sure if it came earlier than that since last I checked was the Tuesday before), I’m in florida though. I was in the same boat as you though worrying that I hallucinated the call LOL hope it shows up for you soon I know it’s anxiety inducing! So I'm freaking out just a little...
