If I am on the waitlist here and it is my first choice, but my CTE deadline for a different school is in a few days is it worth calling USF or should I just be happy with my A and give up here?

I'd honestly send an email. Calling requires them to make a quicker response on their end & isn't as likely to be escalated to the person who can actually move the needle on you getting an A

they responded when i called, but their answers were ambiguous so send an update/interest (or intent) letter if you haven’t already
 
When is the CTE deadline? Still on WL as OOS Select applicant
 
Can we expect significant WL movement on 06/16?
 
Does anyone know if it’s possible to establish Florida residency after one year, as an OOS student? Or would you have to pay OOS tuition all four years?
 
I got an email saying my application was withdrawn although I never withdrew… I had to commit to enroll to another program on Friday in order to not lose my seat at another school but my understanding was that I wasn’t going to be automatically removed from other waitlists?? Did this happen to anyone else?

I mean CTE means withdrawing from all other waitlists and acceptances

I get that but on AMCAS it says, “selecting commit to enroll is not an appropriate method or withdrawing applications from other schools” and “I understand that it is my responsibility to communicate my withdrawal” ugh… usf is my top choice

maybe usf has some kind of automated response to waitlisted candidates CTE'ing somewhere else

Yep, they just called me back and said they’re automatically taking people off the waitlist that committed elsewhere. Goodluck everybody!

Applicants are expected to withdraw from all waitlisted schools after choosing to CTE. Schools can also see when an applicant has chosen to CTE. I know you weren’t trying to be malicious, but this resolved relatively peacefully given that you didn’t follow the traffic rules.

Yes, and realize that at this late point in the cycle the admissions director is checking that portal every day to see whether people on their WL have committed to another school. If they are going to make an offer to the WL they need someone who is going to take it.
 
Yeah, I understand. I waited until the very last day to CTE. I only had this 1 acceptance with the other school and this 1 WL spot with USF, USF being my #1. Wasn’t trying to be selfish or take anyone’s spot. I know that even if I committed to USF after all, my spot with the other school would’ve gone to somebody from their WL.

Same thing happened to me with USF and other schools, USF was also my #1choice.
 
All this dropping WL but no call is depressing lmaoo….
 
where is the accepted students groupme? need to find a roommate asap
