Is the first couple days of may when they normally send a lot out because of the April 30th deadline? I am little lost on what this deadline means, I thought after match day everyone just has one acceptance
They did.
But when people leave TMDSAS schools because they also have an offer OOS, spaces are created for you on WLs to move up.

april 30 is the last day you can hold multiple offers for med schools so if someone is holding an OOS acceptance, they have to pick between UTRGV and that OOS school (if they pick the OOS school, a person is taken off the waitlist) - this means if someone is waitlisted for another program (let's say UTSW) and someone from that school withdraws their acceptance, someone accepted at UTRGV who was on the waitlist for that other school could withdraw their UTRGV acceptance, meaning UTRGV takes someone off the waitlist

Did anyone send a letter of intent/interest and if you were waitlisted, do you feel it helped you?

based on this page, it looks like there’s been no in state waitlist movement - remember the IS and OOS waitlists are different - i think we just have to be as patient as possible and if we get off the IS waitlist, post it here so people know there’s movement

Does UTRGV typically notify waitlisted applicants for when their class is full? I wish we knew how many spots still needed to be filled

Yes I believe so. Now only people with no acceptances in IS can get them. Does anyone know if there will be any more OOS movement? Has anyone called?
that first statement isn’t true… if someone got into let’s say UT Houston but they’re still on the WL for UTRGV and get an acceptance off the WL for UTRGV, they can still pick between the 2 schools. yesterday was the last day to HOLD multiple offers, meaning a deposit had to be put down at one school (i.e., if someone matched at UT Houston and in the past few weeks, got off the WL at UTRGV, they’d have to decide which one they wanted by yesterday)

The fact is simply: no more new offers from a WL after May 15 to Texans already admitted to a TMDSAS school,
Texans, if you did get a WL offer within the last few days, your decision timeline is short & you will have to withdraw from one.

Seems like radio silence…..

I have a friend that got off the IS waitlist a few days ago and had until yesterday to decide

Do they have an SDN account? If they do, please ask them to post when they decide.
I like to add news to our Texas Roundup posts, but I can't go by "friend of a friend" or "I heard somebody somewhere" sources.
I know you are probably reliable and interested, since you're on the same waitlist, right?

Yes! I’m not sure if they’re on SDN, but I’m on the same waitlist, which is how I know them. And they accepted their spot.

With reapplication, how does this work? I’m currently waitlisted here, but submitted all applications. I just got a 2024-2025 secondary. Will I be removed from this current years waitlist? Should I reach out and let them know I want to stay on the waitlist? I know chances are becoming slimmer but you never know!

Work on the new secondary, which thankfully is shorter than last year’s.
However, I suggest you wait to send in the secondary for now.

Do you have any information on how many applicants get in early decision at utrgv? i cant find the info anywhere. thanks!
They don’t publish that information. However if you are considering doing this you probably need to talk to them first so they can approve it for you, and be aware that you can only apply to ONE TMDSAS school if you apply ED, and you won’t find out whether you have been admitted until October 1. If not accepted you can apply to other schools then but it will be quite late in the cycle.
If admitted it is a binding commitment.
