They sent an email saying they added interview dates, but I can't see any. Is it also empty for anyone else?
Same here.

Does anyone know how often/when they add virtual interview dates? They sent an email about it yesterday, but the dates were filled by the time I checked.
I interviewed online about 2 weeks after my in-person interview! There were two openings for online interviews the next week on Monday and Friday, but I remember them filling up fairly quickly so schedule them ASAP.

I received an email about them adding more dates 15 minutes ago. Just checked and there are no available dates. I'm wondering if they just filled up that fast or if the system is being weird for me?

Their system may have some lags with opening new dates

Does UTRGV send Prematches in Waves? Or was October 15th the only one until Match day?

I researched : UTRGV in 2023-2024 prematch dates on 10/27, 10/28, 11/4, 1/13

does anyone have any tips for the group interview? How to prep?

Is there any food/snacks provided during the interview day? I'm just deciding what to pack before heading to the school that day

pro tip for in person interviews: pack your favorite snack and a water bottle, this comes in handy so you can eat it right before your interview for a quick boost in energy. However, do not pack a whole lunch unless its part of the day.

Anyone prematch this week? I’m wondering if there will be another way soon as last year there was.

Hey everyone! I’m a current MS1 at UTRGV so if those that are interested/are going to UTRGV feel free to reach out with any questions!
I have received a pre-match offer from UTRGV and was wondering when they give out financial aid information. Do you know anything about this? I hope it is before match day.

You probably got some links to the financial aid office at your interview or in your prematch offer email, that is the best place to reach out and see what you need to do, and if there are any scholarships can apply for.
Fill out your FAFSA when it’s available in December
Most med students fund their education with federally subsidized loans, and the amount you can borrow depends on the cost of attendance at the school you end up at.

They post class profile pages on their website. Last year they interviewed 510 for 55 spots, but in all years prior they interviewed around 3-400.

Hi all, I interviewed in person on October 11th but have yet to be able to schedule the online interview portion because they fill up so quickly. Is anyone else having trouble securing a spot? Im losing it lmao

My advice is to check your AMP portal everyday at 8a, 12p, and 5p. They'll often open up spots without emailing. It's a grind though. For reference, I did my one-on-one interview almost a month after my group interview just because I couldn't book a spot... Best of luck!

This advice saved me. I live on the West Coast so I never checked for that 8am time as it is 6am for me. I decided to wake up early and was able to pick a time for the first time in over 2 weeks.

Any tips for the online interview? What makes the two interviews different?
They are both traditional open file, just with different faculty. They do tell you who you will be interviewing with beforehand so you can see if you have common interests but they will ask generally the same types of questions.

I had my online interviews yesterday and one of them lasted 15 mins, i thought it went well but I wonder why the interviewer said "that's all I have to ask today" and ended the zoom early. Any thoughts?
did you give really brief answers to all the questions?

Also wanted to say one interview took 50 minutes, the other took 15. Was anyone else like that? The second interview seemed like they were trying to sell the school to me and it was more of a presentation to go to the school than an interview.
I had a very pleasant experience but I really do think it depends who you interview with. My interviews both started late but I think went just about the recommended 30 mins

Question. Did you wait for confirmation or a go ahead to schedule your online interview after your group, because they told us to wait until we got an email informing us it was ok to schedule the online one during our group interview.

I waited for a week then called Admissions office. They told me to schedule. I think they are telling people who just had the group to wait because so many people are trying to get an online interview from prior weeks. They never told my group to wait (I did group interview like 3 weeks ago). I wouldn't worry if they told you to wait.
bruh. Lol thank you but either way there’s no day open for me that I can even choose for the virtual hahaha.

They open more days weekly. If you still can't find a slot like what happened to me, I just emailed them and they set up a new day just for me. They are super nice so just ask if you're having trouble scheduling!

I have my group interview coming up, does anyone know what this looks like? I don’t really know what to expect since I’ve never done a group interview before, and am a bit nervous. Is it like an actual sit down interview with other people or more group activities? Any feedback would be helpful:)

Agree with what was already said. I've had a few different styles of group interview now and this one was the most fun I thought and incredibly low stress.

Hey! I recently received an II from UTRGV Oct 28th, and when I checked later that day to get a slot, there were no openings. And then on October 30th, they said they opened some more slots at 10am, but I missed the email because I was in the middle of my CNA shift, and when I checked during my lunch break, I didn't see any openings again. It's gotten me pretty stressed out and I was just wondering if anyone else has faced the same struggle as me since it's been a week. I've been checking every day to see openings but still haven't seen any. And just to ease my anxiety, just to double check I'm doing this right, once we open the portal, you click the group interview scheduler which pops up the calendar and it should be clear if theres an open slot right? I saw someone earlier in the thread say to check at 8am, 12pm and 5pm so ill try that moving forward! Just getting anxious bc we're inching closer and closer to january and I'm seeing its also hard to schedule the online interview...

without being too specific you basically sit down and work on a problem with a group of people

If we havent heard anything and submitted in August should we assume that we probably wont be getting an II?

How does hearing back from schools post-interview work? Is it only in waves of pre-match offers, or is it dependent on when you were interviewed?

Are you IS or OOS? if you are IS then you have a chance at prematching to any school you have interviewed at, some schools prematch more than others (UTMB, UTSW), some less (Mcgovern, Baylor, Long, Dell). If you don't prematch, make sure to rank your schools and so you can hopefully match with your top choices on match day.
