For Texas residents who ranked Baylor high but did not match with them, are we essentially put in the same pool as the rest of the OOS students? What I mean is. at this point, do we the same chances of getting in as OOS students or do we essentially get put on hold (due to not matching as a TX resident) until they accept OOS to fill their class and then open their waitlist?

Just to make sure, accepting the offer in order to get the campus selection form is non-binding, right? Still have some OOS decisions lingering. Always been a lurker, so I appreciate everything you guys do btw!

Yes treat it like any AMCAS school and you are asked to narrow your schools down by the end of April and kindly notify the ones you will withdraw from then. Congratulations on a Baylor offer!

Y'all so I went back into the portal and saw a "Pre-Matriculation" tab with an "Acknowledgement form" for entering year 2025. Is anyone else seeing it? I should probably wait until they update it for 2026 before signing it, right? 😂

Matched too! Not urgent, but the acknowledgement form and BCM website have different Orientation/Retreat dates. Should we trust the July 20th date?

no. OOS students have a quota where someone OOS has to drop to be replaced by another OOS student.

At some point (May/June) Texas schools will decide that they will just offer an open seat to instate no offer students for all openings.

Probably worth emailing the admissions office or student affairs office about. I'm thinking the 27th is correct because that is what it also says on their published 2026-2027 academic calendar: https://cdn.bcm.edu/sites/default/files/2025-11/school-of-medicine-2026-2027-combined-calendar.pdf
(So glad you brought this up though because I've had Baylor's orientation as starting on the 20th in my own google calendar for weeks now lmao)

Just curious about how Baylor WL works since adcoms have said that they use applicant rankings to determine who gets off the Houston WL from Temple. Is it safe to assume that most IS WL offers will be for Temple because ppl who get off the WL will have been ranked lower than ppl who matched on Match Day? Happy to have an A already, but I'm not sure if I'd take Baylor Temple over it if accepted.

has anyone who has matched received the campus selection form? in the email they said it would be sent today. just making sure I haven’t missed anything.

Yea its steep, but they ended up charging me around $35 for the background check.
Is there a deadline for completing the background check? I am thinking of perhaps waiting until I am sure of the school that I am matriculating into.

Once you have had it done you can ask the background check agency to send to your other school or schools. You won't have to pay for it again

Quick Question on Waitlists -- My son had Baylor as 2nd choice and he got into Long (3rd choice). If his Baylor WL clears, will he be automatically offered Temple campus OR is there a chance to get into the Houston campus? I hear in the past everyone whose waitlist cleared had to go to Temple, but apparently it has changed recently and so wanted to understand how WL movement works.

honestly no point trying to figure this out. everyone’s going to tell you diff answers. chances of getting off the WL are low, and if it happens, you’ll find out your answer then
Actually there is a lot of WL movement every year especially from Baylor and UTSW where the top folks go on to AMCAS Med Schools.

FWIW, I know multiple MS3’s at the Houston campus who got off of the waitlist. Although I think they might have been out of state and things could have changed since that was the first year they opened the temple campus.

Are the WLs all sent? I didn't see any mentions in this thread but it's also been two weeks so I thought it'd be done already.

I believe all IS applicants who interviewed and ranked Baylor above their matched school are automatically on the waitlist. That being said, I am also anxiously waiting for an email to confirm this 😅
This is correct. If you ranked Baylor above your match school you are in their WL
