Wow! Seems like many are withdrawing. I hope I get off the WL, I love Nashville!

Full tuition? Wowzers 😭 why didn’t they give those any earlier

just got half tuition for one year 😭 are they trying to get me to commit early bc they only gave me until wednesday to accept? can’t tell if i have to commit to accept it… if so i will be negotiating for more $

edit: clarifying that the reason im sketched ab committing is bc im on waitlist for more prestigious schools that will likely give better need based aid

At this late date?

It’s sad to see all these scholarships go out now. I probably would’ve have attended if I got at least half a years tuition
I have no insider information here, guys, but what I see on this thread is many offers being made—-
you guys saying "this school is beautiful but I am turning it down"
They might have clued in that it’s too expensive and they need to make it more attractive

I’m assuming they update you with an email, or did you just keep refreshing your portal till you saw financial aid?
received an email on Friday with the scholarship offer and was given until 5/7 to respond. TBH if they offered a lot earlier I probably would’ve considered this school a bit more but now I have offers elsewhere

Just got off the WL to an OOS A, been on WL since October!!! It was a phone call followed by an email 🙂

Edit: got offered half tuition for the first year

Withdrew my WL here. I hope this helps anyone awaiting a decision!
I’m tempted to withdraw from some other waitlists I’m on but am anxious about missing out on fin aid, however don’t have any evidence I’ll receive any, can you explain how you decide to withdraw from a WL? Thanks 🙏

Definitely wait and see about scholarship offers from other schools.

How long does it normally take for a school to send scholarships?
Each school is different, but I have noticed that schools have gotten faster after May 1st in sending scholarships. I hope about a week at the most, but some schools might not offer scholarships until you've committed and are closer to matriculation. I'd look through the threads of schools you are waitlisted for and see how long each school takes and what amounts they offer.

I’m not sure, I was accepted in Fall and still haven’t recieved a scholarship. I’m not sure what the criteria is because I’ve always been in the low bracket of financial income using FAP, grants, and other fee assistance programs

Do we know if their scholarships are merit-based or need-based? I think they are merit-based, but I could be wrong.

I got into my number one choice of school! Based on the thread, it looked like the scholarship opportunities were scarce (although some people received them, but I noticed they were usually not renewable). Therefore, I assumed that my chance of getting a significant scholarship to justify changes in my decision was very slim. I would take my word for caution as it incorporates personal preferences and sample bias from the SDN threads.

Financials aside, I really had a good experience with the admission team (they were very sweet) and think that they have a good supportive community that truly cares about student success!

Did you interview or are you asking for info for the next cycle? If the later, I can send you some information later. If you interviewed, check out the resources that were emailed to you.
Hi! I’m looking to apply next cycle as well. Mind sharing the resources? Trying to find info on a new school is so difficult. Thank you so much!

Their website has a lot of information if you take the time to read it
I didn’t see anything about the grading system, where the clinicals would be, or the attendance policy. Nuances but it’s helpful to know when making the list of schools. Thanks!

Just an FYI--I was told that their interview offers come largely based on essays. There is a minimum MCAT that is fairly low (500-ish)--then the essays. Only then do they look at the rest of the application. Make the personal statement and secondary essays count--they actually read them!

Edit--and certainly do not use ChatGPT

graded preclinical, clinical rotations at HCA 3rd year with options to do away rotations 4 year for your electives, attendance not mandatory unless there is something participatory happening and lectures are recorded
