My interview is less than a week away, and I haven't received any emails other than when I confirmed my interview months ago. Should I be concerned?
I got an email one week before my interview titled “Your Burrell Interview is One Week Away!” Another 3 days before titled “Your Burrell Virtual Interview Final Information” and another the morning of my int if that helps.

They also called to confirm and left me a message a couple days before i think

We will send out reminders as your date gets closer, so they might not be ready yet. If you are concerned about registering correctly, you can: 1. Log in to your portal and confirm 2. Reach out to us directly at [email protected]

just received interview today, so i think they're still being conducted! i think theyre still early in the II, you got this 🙂

OOS WL today :'0 had a nice time in their interview! hopefully spots open up. congrats to those who received As!

Congrats to everyone who has had II's and acceptances. I submitted my secondary on 11/12 but one of my LOR writers did not upload his letter until last week. Do admissions review other secondary material while waiting for letters or do they wait until everything is submitted? Other than that one, I had another LOR that was already submitted and a committee letter from my master's program.

I applied my secondary in July but heard nothing since. Should I contact or are they still early in II

I believe they wait until everything is submitted.

Is there a GroupMe chat or anything for accepted students? I didn’t get the discord link in my email or anything 🥲

Any FL campus students kindly PM me? My questions are:
  1. Are the tests/exams on the FL campus board-style oriented?
  2. How often are quizzes and exams?
  3. How are the instructors on the FL campus?
  4. How are the dean, the faculty, and the staff? (How receptive to change/ any suggestions)
  5. How is the Melbourne area? Any concern for safety on campus?
  6. What does your day-to-day look like?
  7. Does the workload from the school allow you to have one day off to spend time with your family?
  8. How often is Zoom lecture? Are they mandatory? What are the mandatory things Burrell COM FL enforces?
Thank you so much!! Your honest response is truly appreciated! I'm really excited to attend Burrell COM!

submitted my secondary 6 months ago exactly tomorrow, am I cooked? does this school take letters of intent? FL native and really looking forward to a chance to be near home and serve my community.

I have a slightly different version of my previous question about if it's too late to apply. My AACOMAS application was submitted yesterday, 3 days before the school's deadline. AACOMAS said they need about 10 business days to verify my submission. That's after the school's January 1 deadline. Does Burrell's deadline apply to the official AACOMAS date or to the verification date?
I don’t understand what you’re asking. The official school website says that the primary application deadline is in April, though for best chances, February is best.

So, no, it’s not too late.

Please, everyone, keep in mind that we’re on break for another few days until the end of the week, which includes administration and admissions. Don’t expect much of anything this week or early next week, while we get back into our semester.

Current FL OMS-I

1. In short, no. They are professor written exams. They try to emulate board style questions with clinical vignettes in each question, but they do not compare to board style questions. I am unsure if this changes in year 2.
2. Exams every 2 weeks roughly. There are no regular quizzes.
3. They're kind and want to see you succeed.
4. There are certainly some growing pains in having two campuses in different states across the country. We were particularly tested when classes were disrupted in Hurricane season. That being said, I think the folks here in Melbourne try their best to advocate for us and have done a pretty good job.
5. No concern for safety. Melbourne is pretty tame. There's not a whole lot to do, but Orlando is not far out.
6. This really depends on who you ask. Some attend class regularly and some only show up for mandatory sessions. Everyone has a unique learning style. Try and find out what routine and style works best for you. Don't try to emulate others for the sake of it.
7. Absolutely, weekends following exams are typically a good time to take a breather. With enough planning, you can take time off once a week probably.
8. No lectures are conducted over zoom. Lectures are recorded on a different software and posted for us to watch in our own time if you do not attend in person. For the most part, attending lectures in person are not mandatory. There are, however, occasional mandatory sessions where you do group work. I would say that happens 1-2X a block. Other mandatory things: Anatomy labs, PCP labs (clinical skills), OMM labs, and weekly mission medicine lectures (unique to Burrell).

Both campuses share the same schedule, exams, faculty, lectures, and curriculum.
