2024-2025 Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is it possible to still get an interview? Holding onto faith that I could.
I understand because I lost hope tbh. There are a few interview dates left until 5/28

Anyone else WL on 03/20 (FL campus preference) had any movement? I'm starting to get anxious over here as I haven't heard anything back yet

I got pending seat acceptance but didn’t get any seat yet so it’s like I’m still waiting
I'm not sure if I should reach out and ask for an update or not because I'm sure the admissions office is slammed rn- but I did send an update letter end of April so maybe I should leave it at that

I have been waitlisted since January and still have not heard anything back 😅...I saw a few students with similar stats got accepted or was put on the accepted pending list who interviewed much later like in April. I wonder if we would have a better chance getting accepted if we choose to interview late since they would recognize our application more or maybe those students are IS with connections 🤷‍♂️

Wow January! I've seen others come off the waitlist that interviewed later so im wondering if it's safe to assume there's a ranking?

BCOM impacted by this change too?

“The 2024-2025 AACOMAS application cycle has been extended and will now close on June 13, 2025. Applicants should still adhere to each COM’s published deadlines, but please note that some schools may choose to extend their deadlines this cycle. All deadline changes will be reflected in AACOMAS. It is our intention and belief that this cycle extension will better accommodate applicants whose plans may change during the application cycle.

If you have already submitted an application this cycle, your application will remain active until June 13, 2025. You do not need to reapply to any schools that have extended their deadline this cycle.”

At least this means that they haven't completely filled their class yet, especially for the NM campus. But those on the waitlist are still anxiously waiting for a miracle 🙏

January! Oh boy. It's a possibility. I'm IS and have family connections to the area for FL so also not sure how that may be factoring in

Haha yeah, it was a long wait. I was fortunate to be on the accepted pending list at a different school, so it was less stressful, but I still hope to get off the waitlist for Burrell as it is closer to home. I think you have a very good chance with those connections. Don't lose hope just yet! I think they are slowly going over the old waitlisted applicants, and my file is deep down the pit 😅

I have a feeling the month of May is going to drag on for all of us! Fingers crossed for everyone!

It’s so silent, maybe June is our month ?
I hope so. I looked at the previous year's forum and saw movement in June. I did some digging in this forum and saw only like 5 people have gotten off the waitlist so far, mainly those who were WL in late March and April. Haven't seen anyone waitlisted in Dec, Feb (except 1 person), or early March post an update on whether they got off or decided to withdraw.

I got waitlisted in early March and still haven’t heard anything. Still keeping faith!

Have you talked to admissions advisors? I have called a couple times to get clarification on how "Accepted, pending a seat" has worked for applicants in the past. I got the email on April 8 after interviewing March 17. It seems all I can do is wait. Still hopeful!

I was invited to interview today, should I do in person or virtual. I know they say there is no difference but what do yall have to say
