I didn’t hear back from accepted pending seat for Florida
I am also on the "Accepted, pending a seat" list (email received April 8). When I last spoke with an admissions advisor at Burrell, she said that any movement at this point in the cycle is student driven, so an accepted applicant has to withdraw their acceptance of a seat for another person to be offered a seat off the Accepted, pending a seat list. Since we are already Accepted, yes, we would be ahead of the waitlisted people. I believe the NM campus may not have the Accepted, pending a seat situation going on though since they have 200 seats in their class whereas the FL campus only has 100 seats to fill. She did say that there is usually a lot of movement this time of year though, so that is good news for us.

Is it just me or does movement seem really slow/nonexistent off the waitlist this year? Seems like people that interviewed way after or were waitlisted later got accepted over those waitlisted earlier, def seems like a primacy bias. Anyone have news of movement or been pulled off the list recently???? Kinda losing hope.

I haven’t been pulled off acceptance pending seat even yet from end of April

a lot of schools extended their primary app deadlines until June 13th. hence the slower waitlist movement this year across the board

Before someone mentioned they heard the waitlist was ranked, I figured it was since I have definitely seem ppl who were waitlisted later get off before those from earlier. This just seems like an off cycle. I wonder if the AACOMAS deadline extension has anything to do with it.

I was curious why schools extended it. So I did a systematic review of one reddit page and my research concludes that not enough people are paying the acceptance deposits to certain schools. It was also a top down decision from AACOMAS, so some schools are taking advantage of it. Who knows if the republican's big beautiful bill that will cut medicaid and student loans will urge more students to apply this year. However, it seems like things will start to get really crazy come end of June/July due to the extension.

I toured FL last week and I liked it more than BUCOM. Idk if it will be of any benefit to me but it was a fun trip at the very least.

*I happened to be 1hr away as I was going on a celebratory Disney trip with my FL resident discount last week since I just graduated undergrad

Virtual or in-person? I'm low key regretting going in person because one of my interviews was painfully awkward lol.

Yeah glad I didn’t go in person. The first person I had a great interview with and he said I was very fluid with my answers, that they were great, and he would highly recommend me. The second one was very awkward and he got removed from the breakout session mid sentence lol.

I feel like I should just start accepting that its not going to happen for me this year. I just started a job in April and I realized if I was accepted last minute I'd have to quit last minute and I'm too much of a millennial to not feel bad about it😆
Well, there is no major waitlist movements for this month because they are still interviewing. Unless someone who recently received interview invite can vouch that there are more interview sessions opened up for next month, we should start seeing more movements then. I wonder if they will end up delaying orientation as well, considering all the stuff going on this year 😅...but don't lose hope just yet, we're all in the same boat.

I can promise you that orientation won't be delayed. That calendar, for both the first and second year classes, is already set, and will not have any major changes like that.

If that’s the case, sounds like the only possible thing that could delay orientation might be like a Hurricane and even then this implies decisions may already be finalized if the calendar is set in stone.

What are the chances of getting off the waitlist I see a lot of people with acceptance pending seat so I’m assuming they get preference

Those are for FL applicants. It seems NM still has seats so getting off the waitlist might be a little harder for that campus. So, I guess it depends which campus you put as your preference.

Anyone waitlisted gotten acceptance lately? 🙂 just curious, why do they waitlist students when they are also accepting students right after interviews?

Because we didn't do as well as those who were accepted lol. I haven't seen a single post interview rejection so I feel like being WL over getting an A is like a silent rejection in a way lol because there aren't any guarantees we will be taken off.
