3. An important part of UI COM’s identity is the concept of “one college, three campuses.” The curriculum is identical on each campus; however, each campus has unique characteristics. Please describe what you have learned about at least two of our three campuses.

4. Injustice can take many forms and impact individuals and communities in profound ways. Reflect on some of the causes and consequences of injustice you have observed or learned about. What does an individual’s response to injustice reveal about their values and character? How do you see your role—as a future physician and member of society—in recognizing and addressing injustice when you encounter it? (this is the one that was changed)

5. UI COM thrives when students bring a variety of perspectives, values, and ways of thinking to the learning environment. Does anyone know when they send out the zoom link for the interview? My interview is this Thursday but I haven't received the email with the zoom information.

If you didn't receive it today, it should come tomorrow. Did anyone interview 2/17 and get accepted? I'm wondering if the committee discussed applicants from this date or if we all got delayed decision?
 
Congrats on the scholarship! Do they still give these out later? Am wondering how flexibile they are with need/merit based for in-state students
 
IS DD 2/20. UI COM is my top choice rn if admitted. The next time As are given out will be ~3/20 (day after committee meeting). After that, everyone still on DD will be waitlisted in April (according to past cycles).

Should I send a Letter of Intent now or wait until I’m possibly on the WL?

Hi. Congratulations on your acceptance and on getting your scholarship from Illinois. Was it a partial amount or full ride . I noticed earlier you mention 503/3.7, was the 503 MCAT a typo or is it for real ? I'm curious because you mentioned the scholarship. Thanks.

Depending on the scholarship, scores do not matter. I received one with a 502 MCAT. Med students can be valued for more than their scores.

Did you receive the scholarship automatically or did you reach out to them about it? I have no idea of what criteria they look for when they decide who to give scholarships to so any help helping understand this based on your experience would be amazing. Thank you!

The majority of this is on the website. Be sure to review the website, ESPECIALLY before you email the admissions office. Scholarship Information | College of Medicine | University of Illinois College of Medicine

I'm an M4, so how information about scholarships is presented has changed since I started, but scholarships are offered via email. There is no scholarship application process and being accepted to UICOM automatically makes you eligible for consideration for a merit scholarship. The specific criteria and decision making process is not made explicitly clear to us, although scholarships are offered to students who have extensive community service involvement, have stellar academic success, have significant research, demonstrate extensive advocacy work, etc. If you are selected for a scholarship, you will be notified between now and the commit to enroll date. For those accepted off the waitlist, if they are offered a scholarship it will most likely come in the initial acceptance because they will have to make a quick decision. There are not very many full tuition scholarships, I think in my class there was 1, maybe 2, offered. Most merit scholarships are about $10,000/year. There are no need based scholarships.

Do you know if they'll match or even negotiate if we received scholarships from another school?

Is anyone else having not getting responses from the medadmit email. I’m getting a little worried. I responded to an email they sent me and never heard back. So I sent a follow up weeks later, and never heard back from that either. Does it just take a while?

I would say call the admissions instead. They’ve picked up right away and were helpful
