Anyone who accepted their Alt list have a “Your status has been updated” but nothing else to confirm you accepted it? Kinda paranoid I clicked the wrong button now :0

Is anyone having trouble completing the financial aid form? It keeps saying system error and am worried lol

In email it says "you can stay on alternate lists until a medical school to which you’re currently accepted requires you to Commit to Enroll. Once you commit, you are required to remove yourself from all alternate lists".

The Commit to enroll in medical school is beginning April 30th, 2025, right? Right now, If I am accepted to another school, so I have to pick Commit to Enroll right to one school, or I can wait. But if I do, it says they will remove me from the alt list. If anyone can explain, it is a little confusing for me. Should I just enroll as plan to enroll also on April 30th instead of Commit to Enroll until I get an answer from all waitlists?

It says the movement of Alt. list will begin after April 30th.

The plan to enroll is April 30. Commit to enroll is a separate date for most schools, which means you can stay on waitlists and alternate lists until then to maximize your chance of getting off.

From my understanding, Commit to Enroll means you are 100% committing to enroll there and should remove yourself from all waitlists. Plan to Enroll after April 30th means you will attend that school but are still on other Waitlists and may switch to those schools if offered acceptance.

Thank you! Now I get it, so I looked it up, and one of my schools is June 1st. So, after I pick to commit to enroll on June 1st, I will be removed from all waitlists/alt lists after June 1st, right? I have heard of people getting off the waitlist, like the two weeks before medical school starts and if is their top choice they go there. How does that work? So sorry if is silly questions!
With commit to enroll I believe you’d have to email the waitlisted schools and ask to be removed from consideration.

sorry if this was discussed earlier in the thread, but what do people wear to the accepted students day?

do you guys think it will make any difference when we send update letters? I just worry if I send a letter at the end of April when I expect to have some meaningful updates, that it will be too late and they would have already met. Although in previous threads I saw someone accepted off the waitlist 2 days after sending an update so maybe there isn't a wrong time. This is also a general question for waitlists tbh.

following as well, trying to see when would be a good time to send update letters/letters of interests for schools that we are waitlisted at?

I think ppl make decisions 04/30, so Wl starts beginning May. So, I would think to send letters mid April but I may be wrong

Anyone in the current class, or know someone in the class, have an idea of how much of the student body is usually made up of people who were taken off the WL?

anyone know about how many ppl got off waitlist in previous years? I know about 250 people have been accepted, and online data says 500 people were accepted in the past overall, so I'm wondering if this really means 200 people can get off waitlist (of course many on WL denying and many accepted denying)

Would love to know!

sorry to hear that yall;s package wasnt what yall expected. does anyone know if case matches scholarships?

full transparency I got some aid but have another school with a greater scholarship (but lower ranked)

Anyone know if CWRU over accepts higher then the class size or just accepts enough to fill their class and then start taking people off the waitlist?

I don’t think they over accept that much if at all. From last year’s thread it looks like they accept people as spots become available. I’m assuming this can drag on into the summer depending on the year.

I see. Some schools way over accept which makes waitlist movement more unpredictable. Let’s see how this all goes come may.

@CWRU.Sman Do the secondary prompts change year to year? I am starting to pre-write my secondaries for the upcoming cycle and am curious if they change. (Aka, should I avoid pre-writing) I met some CWRU reps at the UC Davis conference this past November and CWRU quickly became a top choice of mine.

It would probably be good to check the previous years threads to see how frequently it changes, as no one can tell you if it will specifically change next year. Similarly admit.org has a feature that shows how likely it is for certain secondary prompts to appear year to year

it really isn’t a deadline. AMCAS says “out of respect” for other applicants reduce to 3 Acceptances. but if people need time to decide/negotiate aid they are not restricted to the April 15th date - it isn’t official
oh wait really? do we need to email amcas or something if we need more time?
