Ima be honest it seems like this year they barely touched the waitlist so far, it’s the first time they’ve done this in like 2-3 yrs so I can’t help but think that the BBB is playing a role here with people holding As. Just a hunch tho

With April 30th deadline approaching, is anyone planning to decline their acceptance/ has anyone already declined acceptance? Asking for myself (on WL)

It looks like 86 students accepted positions (or more than that) based on the recent email today and the april 30th deadline. Is this how you interpreted it as well?

Yeah that’s my understanding from that email. Makes me wonder how many people will need to decline before spots open up if they’ve over-accepted?

As an accepted student this is what we got in our email: “We currently have a full class and will be accepting off the waitlist on a one-out/one-in basis as needed throughout May and early June to enroll our full class of 86 on June 29.”

GroupMe is at 96 including upperclassman med students. Hope that helps

Very helpful, thank you! To your knowledge, is everyone in there PTE at WMed holding no acceptances elsewhere? That’s my understanding of traffic rules but it seems like (based on admit dot org) there were so many people holding tons of As to other schools. Seems crazy that only a 10 people would choose to drop their A here just statistically?

No idea, I’m PTE and waiting on other WLs, but it seems that at least 20 people left the groupchat within the past couple days. I’d assume the number of students is close to 86 rn tho

Here is information that may be helpful:
There are currently 80 students in the accepted student GroupMe

Since April 29th, 10 people left, but they removed 19 more later this afternoon. I am wondering if the people they removed had PTE somewhere else, so they just gave them the boot.

There is about 6 people in the GroupMe that are current students, so unless they were also removed, I would estimate 74 (leaving 12 open spots), which does not make sense with them saying the class is full. However, there is a solid chance that not everyone who has been accepted and PTE is in the GroupMe, but missing 12 seems unlikely.

Just sharing this information for anyone who might want some more things to obsess ober.
