There are so many factors that go into whether you are offered an interview, acceptance, or rejection. Veterans and Americorps/Peace Corps volunteers get pre-II rejected all the time from these "service-oriented" schools.

My portal just says:

ReceivedChicago Medical School Supplement Application
and same for my MCAT.

Do I need to wait on another email to confirm they're processed my app and are reviewing it?

Wow thank you so much for this!! How much time do you spend on campus during the week? I can’t remember if classes were mandatory or not. Is it pass fail all 4 years?
Hey, sorry for the delayed response! for some reason I wasn't getting notifications when someone responds to my comments... To be completely honest with you I don't spend a lot of time on campus during the week. Of course, I attend the mandatory sessions which usually take place 1-2x per week. And sometimes these mandatory sessions are virtual, so there are some weeks where I don't even go to campus. For example, as I am typing this right now I am not even in Illinois (but school is indeed in session), because we don't have anything mandatory in-person for 11 days straight. So I took this as a chance to travel someplace warm 🙂 However, I'm studying hard everyday (around 7 hours per day) even though I'm not physically on campus or even in Illinois. So to answer your question -- you'll be required to spend around 2 hours on campus per week (assuming there are 2 mandatory sessions that week), and even less if the mandatory sessions are Virtual. That being said, I have friends at RFU who attend every single session/lecture (even the optional ones), and they study on campus all evening. Those students are probably spending 8 hours per day on campus, but again, that's entirely up to them and it's what they prefer 🙂 Do what works best for you.

First 2 years are Pass/Fail. M3 and M4 years are Honors/High-Pass/ Pass/Fail. The goal is to at least Pass all your M3/M4 clerkships. But, you definitely want to get Honors in the rotation that's your desired specialty. So if you're aiming to match General Surgery for residency, you definitely need to Honor your surgery rotation. Hope this helps!

This is a great reply and helps a ton! Thanks a lot.

Also one more thing, I am 21 and entering medical school straight away. I am pretty sure Rosalind tends to have more non trads, and I was wondering if I'd fit in. I am more than happy to study with people who are older than me, but I hope there's a social circle for me there! Also if med students mingle with other grad schools there.

Thanks!
There are plenty of people your age in my class. Lots of students are coming from the DePaul pathways program (so they're 21 when starting medical school). Don't worry about making friends. You will find your tribe no matter what 🙂
Yes, there is an Interprofessionalism class that we are required to take during M1 year, which combines every graduate program at RFU (medicine, podiatry, nursing, clinical psychology, etc.), and we are split into groups for this class to complete assignments and projects (these are very easy and low stress). Essentially free points lol. So there is definitely a chance to talk to students from other programs. How close you get to them will be entirely up to YOU. If you choose to befriend them and hit them up for coffee or something, then of course friendships will develop. On the other hand, if you choose to never talk to them until required to do so for projects/assignments, then you won't really get close. It truly is what you make of it.
Hope this helps!

Read this in the housing document... should I be worried?

Don't walk alone, especially at night. Walk in areas that are well lit or you can contact the Office of Campus Safety for an escort.

no lol

recently got an II, anyone know how long the interview is/sample itinerary?
8:45 am to 2:10pm on interview day and a meet and greet the night before at 5:00pm, I think.
check in, deans welcome/ interview day overview presentation, student perspective/ virtual tour, MMI group II, lunch, curriculum/pre-clinical/clinical presentation, student affairs presentation, financial aid presentation, closing remarks.

If i remember correctly the MMI had 2 different groups and if I would have been in group I then I would have had my MMI portion of the day switched with the student perspective/virtual tour portion.

Anyone, please chime in if I am remembering incorrectly.
