Does anyone know if they accept letters of intent? Their portal says "meaningful updates... new substantial updates" so I'm not sure if I should risk submitting something that isn't the cure to cancer

Quick question for people who have sent in updates: are you able to see evidence that they uploaded the update to your file? They emailed back and said they did, but I am not seeing it reflected in my portal :/

I'm unable to see mine there as well
 
all these holds and deferrals- are they in the portal or do they email you? i lost access to my portal and havent received any correspondence from geisinger except that they uploaded my update letter. i literally havent heard from them as an oos applicant with ties who submitted in july. no rejection, no deferral, no ii.

anyone able to speak on their interview experience here? types of questions, how much time to answer, things you liked/didnt like?

Is anyone getting mail from Geisinger?? Any indicator of an interview to come? Also has anyone else applied to the Abigail Geisinger program and been put on hold?

If you've been sent your schedule for the day, you might have seen that you have several interview "stations" or temporary rooms you have been assigned for your MMI. If every interview day has the same number of stations, then no one can really prepare you for the variety of different questions that could be asked or prompts discussed: no one receives each and every one (unless they repeat questions every 6 stations). However, consider that if each station only asks one question, it cannot be too specific to that applicant. From what I recall, I was not thrown by any questions, but there were definitely plenty that I had not previously considered or "prepared" for. Follow-up questions may be asked depending on your answers, but I believe you are given some time to collect your thoughts after you are initially given the starter question/prompt at each station. Just relax and take the time provided to collect your thoughts and plan your big points. Appreciate the fact that each new mini interview is a fresh one. Good luck!

Glad to help. Hopefully the OP sees it too. I am almost positive you are given a little prep time for each station's question, but do not rely too hard on that just in case. Let it be a nice bonus.
 
Pre-II deferral– from past threads I don't think this is a good sign? But why do they keep doing this when it's just a soft R?
 
Aren't MD interviews pretty much done by now? I also got a Pre-II Deferral. Why not just outright send me a rejection...? Or is this actually something that I can send a LOI for 😛
 
OOS pre-II hold (i think?) received today. Is this equivalent of an soft-R?

"I am writing to update you on the status of your application to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. The Admissions Committee has reviewed your materials and elected to defer an interview decision until a later date. Your application will remain under review, and when the Committee makes its final decision you will be notified; until then, you will not receive further communication regarding your application status."

Not sure what I can do to get an interview invite this late in the cycle oof. I do have 2 pubs that were accepted for publication as a 2nd author. Should I just send that to them in an update letter?
