2024-2025 Jefferson (Sidney Kimmel)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Christ almighty how are they already that ahead lmao
Since all their interviews are in person, they don't start interviewing until mid-september. Give us time to book flights and all that good stuff. I got my II on 7/23 and the earliest date was 10/02 when I signed up

yep 9/11 is the earliest date that anyone could sign up for

Wait, Jeffersons email didn't mention a hard two week deadline. I got the secondary July 1st and submitted July 16th, am I cooked lol? the only school so far that has given me a hard deadline is UNC, because they said they would withdraw my app.
I did the same thing btw lol, I realized after submitting that the two week deadline was a single line in the portal somewhere. I just used SDN for the prompts lol didn't even make an account before submission day. On reddit someone said that last year their email did say 2 weeks and they specifically removed that this year so maybe they might still consider us? Also curious if anyone else who submitted after the 2 weeks got an II so far.

Does anyone know where to submit update letters to SKMC?
from their website: All communications concerning your application, including the interview, should be emailed to: [email protected]. Please include "Attention: Committee on Admissions" in your email subject line. You may also call our offices directly: 215-955-6984.

Does this school accept updates pre-II, I sent them a short email updating them on something and they responded saying if it’s an update to allow 10 days to have it in the portal.

Thing is I thought they didn’t accept updates so this email was VERY brief unlike the big letters I’m sending to other schools.

If they accept update letters should I email them back the bigger letter?

Your updates should be brief anyway, they are to add in new information, publications, grades, or such things and not to write another 2 page essay

I sent them a significant update pre-II and they accepted it with no issues.

Just interviewed. Amazing experience the staff and students are so friendly I don’t think any school interview can top this lol
Phew that's amazing to hear! I feel a lot better for mine. So glad you had such a great experience!

Wow, January? They're out pretty far already, their interview season only goes through February.

For those that have already interviewed, how was the interview day structured? And did they have optional sessions to attend, activities, tours, etc. after the day ended at 5? I have my interview next week and I'm a little nervous but also super excited, Jeff is one of my top choices!

The secondary complete email states they interview through early April. My friend interviewed there last year in late march and got an A
Oh gotcha, on their site it says the interview season goes through February: "Every Wednesday, beginning in mid-September through February we host applicants on the Jefferson - Center City Campus. Interviews are conducted on Wednesdays, September through February."
They must just have conflicting info up.

Edit to this: I will say, I checked my interview invitation email and it says the following: "Interviews are scheduled on Wednesdays from September through February. The day begins at 9:00 am EST and concludes at approximately 4:00 pm."

Each cycle they may just decide whether or not to add on more dates at the end?

They present a lot of info at the beginning and they try to relax u as much as possible. Student interview is so chill and faculty interview is slightly less chill but still super chill. There's some diversity presentation at the end they say is optional, but they took attendance for us 😳 feel free to msg me with more questions

did the school skip past the 8/27 complete date already?

Like most schools, they don't go exactly in order of complete date. They bounce around depending on the interviews already given, profile of students they've already decided to accept, literally any number of things that are beyond our scope of insight

also just how quickly your reviewer has reviewed you. I wouldn't count yourself out just by complete date.

heard that this school is getting close to finishing IIs - when should I send an update letter? or should i send one at all? have 3 new service initiatives at a free clinic ive been volunteering at since freshman year

I would say that is up to you. If you feel like your new service initiatives are something that would bolster your application and be worth updating on, then go for it.
As for if Jeff is almost done sending IIs, med school constantly surprise us and change their tactics for IIs every year. I do know that they have received a significantly larger amount of apps this cycle, so they may send out more IIs than they have previously. You never know!

In the secondary complete email, they said they're interviewing till early April.

Are we expecting 10/16 to be the first date for As
