2024-2025 Johns Hopkins

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I also wondered this because I didn’t have these tax documents yet (complicated situation, and I thought I had until next year), and this is what their financial aid office said:

“If you were to miss the November 15th deadline, we encourage you to submit your CSS Profile and tax materials as soon as possible to be considered for institutional scholarships. While priority consideration is given to those who meet the deadline, eligible late applicants may still receive aid on a funds-available basis.”

So now I’m running around trying to get everything in by tomorrow because that “may” made it sound less like a soft deadline and more like a medium deadline to me :/ idk tho

I did my CSS two days ago but didn't know we also had to separately upload 2023 tax documents. Which documents do we need and do we upload them to collegeboard as well or to some JHU portal?

Did everyone do CSS? I just never did it because my parents live outside of the country but wondering if this is going to negatively affect my application.. :/

i dont think it will at all. i think its just for the financial aid office and it is just so they can give you the financial aid package info when they give you your decision

I believe it's just so that they can give you your financial award at the same time as your acceptance (if you get in)

also doing it by 11/15 only really mattered for the first wave of applications. those who interviewed this week were already second week so

Hi, another IDOC question. It just says forms are needed from my custodial parents. I was not a dependent last year so do I still need their forms? Or just mine?

Anybody else unable to log into IDOC? I did the CSS but my account info just isn't working on the IDOC system. Oh well for on time lol

Do we only upload our parents’ forms? That’s all I did honestly because that’s all they asked for, but now I’m wondering if I should add my own or wait till they ask

I was having the same issue and it turns out I was forgetting to check the box agreeing to the terms and conditions, I hope this helps

Like the FAFSA it's meant to clock your financial info as well; prior-prior year tax returns and whatnot IIRC

Got into IDOC, just took a few hours, but I didn't upload my own forms because it didn't ask? Just asked for custodial parent(s)

When I emailed the Hopkins financial aid office to ask questions about the CSS, I asked if tax returns and W2 were necessary for myself and they told me "you will be asked to upload your taxes and W2 to IDOC."

FWIW, this is corroborated on the CSS profile page where it states as much: What documents do I need to complete the CSS Profile? – CSS Profile | College Board

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

oh so odd maybe I'll just add mine then ??
Yeah, I've just been operating under the assumption that I need to have all that paperwork on hand anyway for the FAFSA and ultimately other schools use the CSS as well.

I just bit the bullet and set out the time to put everything together. Easier to avoid the potential headaches, imo

I'm flabbergasted because this worked. OOS II this morning, complete 8/10
I am hopping on the trend:

I can't believe that I submitted my app here for the 3rd cycle in a row and rewrote all my essays and even did the CSS profile knowing that I have absolutely zero chance of even getting an II, let alone an acceptance. If they didn't like me the first 2 times, there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY IN ANY UNIVERSE EVER that they will this time around.

What a shame

Alr I join the summoning circle
I completed them so late, was so burnt out, and vomited up the worst piece of writing I've ever brought into this world for their wOnDeR prompt. No way they take the bait of my country musician wannabe ass lol. Didn't even do CSS so what am I gonna do there anyway, donate three kidneys to pay for the first sememster? Guess it was worth a try but damn

I’m joining this manifesting circle.

I can’t believe I donated my money and wasted my time completing the CSS profile when I’m getting ghosted anyways. Can’t believe I put so much effort into my essays only to be slighted, did I honestly think I had a chance?

Congrats!

I didn't even try on their essays and the wonder one only took half the space they gave me. Filliing out CSS was such a bum and I even pushed that off until the last day. I knew once they announced free tuition it would be a lost cause getting in here with my measly stats. So much time wasted just to donate my application fee ugh

Just a quick question. Were we supposed to fill out the css profile to be considered for the interview even when I am not looking for financial aid? Or does it not affect the admission process? Did anyone ask the school about this?

You do NOT need to fill out the CSS profile for the purposes of getting admitted or getting an interview invite. The 11/15 deadline is so that the school can provide financial aid packages along with your acceptance offer rather than making you wait months after getting accepted to hear about your financial aid offer from Hopkins. I think this has been answered a few times in the thread already.
