Can anyone provide insight on NYIT interviews? Got one for next week and I haven’t received any instructions

Once you schedule your interview using the sign-up sheet you should receive a notification to your email with the Zoom information. It's one on one interviews with either faculty, admin, alumni, etc. Very conversational because I believe it is a closed file so the interviewer is really just trying to get to know you. I enjoyed mine!

pretty sure its open to some degree. my interviewer knew about one of my specific experiences.

At first, we pretty much went down a list of questions with some follow-up/clarification questions. Then I got a chance to ask questions and we had a short conversation after that.

mine was really conversational. I think there was a list of questions but my interviewer really made an effort to make me feel comfortable throughout and didn't make it feel like a Q/A.

I would reach out directly to admissions on Monday to get an answer as quickly as possible so you can submit your primary.

Yes, I emailed them about this before. Here is what they said:

"Thank you for your interest in NYITCOM. Yes, we do accept English AP credits (writing intensive) if they are on your official transcript from an accredited University and being class specific. I hope this is helpful."

they said the committee meets at the end of every month and makes decisions then. I interviewed 8/29 and heard nothing yet

I was accepted with a 509 MCAT, which is just slightly above their average, and am out of state.

Completed my interview today, I’d recommend looking up your interviewers prior to scheduling so that you can choose someone that is involved/specializes in something you’re interested in. The list of questions took about 15 minutes and the rest of the time we just talked about her background and what she’s done at the school, and even though it was definitely a short interview I feel like we were able to really make a connection because of that! Overall though it was definitely a very relaxed interview and I was told to expect a decision in 3-4 weeks.

Yeah I was at least expecting an II with above avg stats but guess not,

Also what doesn't make sense is if there average mcat is a 505 then either people with higher Mcats just dont end up going or people are getting in with sub 500's.

I interviewed on August 30th and heard back with the A this week. The school's admission committee only meets once per month. You probably won't hear back until about this time next month or so.

It's been pretty quiet post secondary submission for me since july, so do you think that them meeting only once a month mean that any application updates are gonna roll out pretty slowly?

I had one like this too and so did one of my friends. I think it depends on who your interviewer is.

My interview was relatively short, as we worked through the questions pretty quickly. I spent the rest of my interview asking my interviewer questions about her career and Long Island itself, but we still ended early. I wouldn’t stress about a short interview!
