Hi everyone! I just received an interview invite from NYITCOM-ARK. I’m honestly shocked cuz I have really low stats (497 mcat and 3.3 SMP GPA) but also I have great rural clinical experience. I was wondering what y’all think the chances of getting accepted into this school after an interview ? I think it’s my insecurity wanting to know cuz I’m desperate for an A 🙁. Given how early it is in the cycle , is it more likely to get an A or WL than a R ?
hey! congrats on your interview invite, the committee sent you an ii for a reason it means they are interested! you might have better luck asking in the NYITCOM ARK thread, im sure more people there are familiar with the ARK acceptances/WL/R

Thank you so much, you are very kind 🥹

Hello all, just a quick question. I completed my secondary targeting Old Westbury, but I wanted to know if they consider you for both campuses? Is there a stats difference between the two locations, or does none of that matter?

How long does it take to receive an interview after submitting your secondary?

For those who interviewed, mine is tomorrow! How hard are the questions, are they the usual three big ones or more ethical/situational? And how was the overall experience for the interviews? Congratulations yall!

They consider your selected campus when deciding whether to send an invite; you can only interview at one campus (I am pretty sure)

For people who attended a pre-interview welcome session: is it something where you have your video on and participate? Thanks!

yes, the leaders recommended that you have your camera on, and there was an opportunity to stand out and ask questions. Some of the participants asked 4 or 5 questions which was very weird

Thank you!!! I will definitely take that time off from work then. Time to think of a question

For those accepted, have any of you seen the “2025-2026” term selection for the tuition deposit?

Did anyone get accepted not attend the information session? I really can't take off more time for a 2 hour session in the middle of the day when my interview is a different day

Yeah I didn’t attend the info session lol

How long typically between interview and decision? I don't remember getting any information on that. Thanks 🙂

Hey all! I’m getting a little nervous. I submitted my primary June 11th, NYIT sent their secondary the 12th. I submitted mine on the 28th of June, and I got the completed status on July 1st. Radio silence since then. I put my preferred campus as OW.

Stats: 3.45 CGPA, 3.32 BPCM, 508 MCAT. Explained my upwards trend and the hardships I faced (familial tragedies, job issues during Covid, having to be a caretaker for family members during my first two years of college).
EC’s: 900+ clinical hours (volunteering and paid), 2000+ non clinical hours (volunteering and paid), 350+ research hours.

I can delve more into my experiences if anyone wants, but I’m really worried about this.

Gotta give the process time my friend, there is no rhyme or reason to how they go through applications or make interview decisions. Certainly nothing that any of us here can do, so you submitted and now just need to lay back and relax! No news mean no rejection!

Thank you, and I try to keep telling myself this! It’s just rough. I am doing well otherwise for this cycle for OOS schools, but I’m in NY and my main goal is to stay in NY.

I appreciate the advice, guess I need to stop and smell the roses a bit lol.

I submitted my secondary 7/1 and my application says "Application complete" at the top above my photo, but I am wondering--do other peoples' applications say 'under review' on the secondary? I am wondering if I should email admissions to see if they have all of my materials. Thank you!
Is there a dedicated NYITCOM portal where we can keep an eye on our status? Or is it just the "Supplemental Application Complete" page where we see our secondary and photo? (I tried googling NYITCOM portal but it directs me a log-on with a temporary pin that I never got via email)

+1 OOS II, Complete late June

I took nearly a month to submit my secondary as I didn't realize it would be sent immediately after applying and was not prepared, so for those who are in a similar boat there's hope and don't stress! 🙂

+1 OOS II, submitted way back on 6/13! Very exciting.
Also first time seeing this method for interview sign up .... giving us the choice of interviewer as well as an option to comment on the sign up slot made me wonder if I need to do more research for this one. Honestly though I just picked the soonest slot available that worked for my schedule and said I'm excited to meet them! Should be nice I think

Same! Choosing your own interviewer is so nerve-racking. I was trying to schedule the soonest date I could and simultaneously looking up the interviewers lol

I would also like to know this because I cant even find the secondary email. I submitted my secondary in August but I guess maybe I deleted the link?

As far as I know, there is no portal. I was accepted to the AR campus and it still just says app complete for me on that page.

I interviewed on September 17th as an OOS applicant, does anyone know how long it takes for decisions to be sent out? Is it usually between 2-3 weeks?

they said the committee meets at the end of every month and makes decisions then. I interviewed 8/29 and heard nothing yet

Seeing past threads , those who have interviewed in August and September, the first batch of A’s came out mid October!
Hopefully, it is a little earlier this year since the August interview decisions were released earlier than in past years. I was hoping to decline a few other interviews this week if I got the A here, but I guess I'll be attending them now.

For the pre-interview sessions, are cameras on? or is it just them talking about the school/opportunities/interview process?

I would say about half of the people had them on and the other half had them off. The session I attended was in the middle of the day so a lot of people were at work and unable to have their cameras on. The faculty encouraged us to have our cameras on if we could, but it wasn't a requirement.

There are accepted student tours coming soon to all of you who have already received an A. They will be on Oct 11 and Oct 25. If any of you start a GroupMe for accepted students, I would be happy to infiltrate and answer any Qs you all may have when I have time and *mental* freedom. 🤣

More IIs should be coming soon! We have a pre-interview session announced for the Oct 11 and Oct 18. I'm uncertain about what I will sign up for, and I need to actually grab a spot. Will drop another update if I can get one.
Thanks for consistently keeping us updated about the cycle man, your work is much appreciated

could anyone speak a bit more about the pre-interview zoom session? i could probably log on for part of if since ill be at work (maybe like 11:30-1 and miss the first 30 min or so), is this okay/ worth it to plan to join? thanks!

I was in your position too where I had to join in during my shift, the first couple minutes is an overview of the school and what to expect, and then a Q&A breakout room with the student ambassadors (the latter half and majority of the session). I felt that the breakout rooms with the students held the most value so missing the beginning shouldn't set you back. Also if you have any questions, you can email admissions after the Zoom. You should be fine if you miss the first couple of minutes.

Can someone please explain how you get clinical rotations? Do you just reach out to different hospitals to see if they will accommodate you?? Sorry, I’m just super confused how this process works. I thought schools were supposed to set them up for you..

Can anyone provide insight on NYIT interviews? Got one for next week and I haven’t received any instructions
