From what I've heard from the office, if you didn't receive an initial merit aid offer around the time that the general financial aid package was released (3/27-ish), that means you did not get it. However, you can send an email to Dr. Kundu/Office of MD Admissions to negotiate (this office handles merit, whereas Chicago Office of FA handles need-based).
For those in the future wondering how prone Northwestern is to negotiation… they just more than tripled my offer!

Also for future lurkers in previous years, NW is extremely generous w Fin Packages. The preliminary offer was really high, and they more than encourage you to negotiate. However, it seems like they go up to Max Tuition only, no stipend for living, unless anyone here has seen different.

Does anyone have any insight to if there may be waitlist movement this year?

In last year's thread, someone reported getting a call off the waitlist on May 8th, so I'm hoping for movement next week 🤞
I looked up waitlist movement for the past 3 cycles on SDN because I’m neurotic. Here’s what I found:
- 2021–2022: Reportedly no WL movement due to overenrollment
- 2022–2023: One A reported 5/30/2023
- 2023–2024: Some A’s reported 5/8/2024 (around 5 PM CT)

Went through the GroupMe list and counted the number of people who indicated current student status - it's approximately 70.
317 total members. 317-70 = 247. But they probably have to remove a bunch more people manually since the April 30th deadline has passed (last time they removed people was after the April 15th CYMS deadline).

The GroupMe is now at 284 members (- 70 medical students or so) leaves 214. There weren't a whole lot of people removed after the April 30th CYMS deadline. So as of now, we are still a good deal over the class size.

GroupMe is still at 284. What happens if the class has too many students? I find it hard to imagine 70+ people getting off the WL at better schools.

Maybe we did not count the number of current students correctly? It might be worth another check. Also, they probably are gonna wait till mid-May or the end of the month to start getting rid of more people. The real number is likely below 214. I can say that no new people have joined the GroupMe yet though.
Most of the M1s don't have it in their username in the GroupMe

We had one person join the GroupMe on May 20th. Nobody else since. There might have been a few calls.

Nobody has joined the class, and Northwestern has been sending us more welcome emails. The GroupMe is still at 284. I just don't think they had much WL movement this year, unfortunately.
