From what I remember from interview day, people put on CR after decisions have come out will either be waitlisted or rejected come mid-January.

So is there any hope in waiting on a call next week if on CR? I read some older forum posts about applicants receiving calls the second week of Jan after being put on CR in the first week of Jan. This might just be delusion tho lol

was that last year? haha sorry im being neurotic AF
It was 2021-2022, but looking at last year's, it seems like WL is the inevitable decision. Don't stress too much though, last year they had around 165 students on WL and offered ~40+ acceptances off WL. There is still a really solid chance actually. WL IS NOT R! 🙂

Fingers crossed that this MD/PhD fiasco has messed up their review cycle and they may extend As going into the next couple weeks.

Does anyone know how likely is it for incoming students to get couples housing?

All students are guaranteed housing! You’re eligible for couples housing if you’re married or meet the other eligibility criteria.

Are all of us still on CR cooked? Do we know how many are waitlisted/how many waitlisted get acceptances?

The wait for a response is killing me. I hope they at least stick to the promised mid January response time.

good point - i think if they did something like decrease the length of the program, factors like overenrollment could be a concern given overlap among classes

i agree that there’s probably multiple factors at play, and that funding is possibly a piece of the puzzle, but no real point in speculating as i’m sure we’ll have an official reason soon. overall a bad look for NYU
Most of the students think that this is not a pause -its the end. There was a major "restructure" almost 3 years ago from 2 years med classes, then the PhD then 2 years to finish the MD. It was changed to 2.5 med school years including clinical part then the PhD then 1 more MD part.
Students and faculty think that the "restructuring " will be to SHORTEN the PhD if the program returns - but most believe it is dead.
But why did the school then interview last fall and then rescind offers in 2025 ? A total lack of regard for students ?

Hang in there CR/waitlist fam!!! I can imagine how stressful this time is and I am sending y’all love from the other side. If you ever wanna talk/vent/feel not alone, my DMs are open!

What ever happened to mid-Jan timeline? Has anyone heard anything back?
I don’t think anyone has heard from NYU yet.

A bunch of my friends were told be our state school that they’d hear back by mid January and they also haven’t heard anything. I wish schools would at least give us an updated timeline.

I’m not am applicant, but saw the news about the decision reversals recently. I wonder if the cancelations of NIH funding government wide decision announced today might be why? Just speculation

What do we think the odds of a CR getting an A is at this point (even if it is off the waitlist)? I can't remember how many people get off the waitlist at NYU

An email acknowledging the extended time line would be nice, just some type of communication...
My state school did exactly what NYU is doing now, and when someone called the office of admissions they gave an updated timeline. If someone wants to be the sacrificial lamb, that would be great, lol.

I don't understand why its taking so long. Arent we just waiting for a R or a WL at this point?
