I have not heard back from them at all since I submitted my secondary in September, should I be giving up hope?

Sorry if this has been explained but I still don’t understand, is the Kira talent MMI questions asked by actual humans? Or it’s like Casper where you’re responding to video recording situations/questions?

I interviewed in December. There are live people asking you questions/role playing with you. Some stations are one on one with an interviewer asking you a specific question, and others are role play scenarios that you have to "act" in.

Question about OHSU: do we know if they have AOA and internal rank? I saw on admit.org that they did but wondering if that was maybe old data? really hoping they don't because otherwise they would be my dream school but if they do, worried about if I would like the environment

From their student q&a, they said no internal rank, but yes AOA. Their AOA is based on extracurriculars and other factors, and you have to apply

IS applicant, application complete on 8/13, have not heard anything. I know OHSU's timelines for applications are all wonky so anyone else in my spot try not to lose hope.

For reference, applied last year and interviewed in early December, did not hear of my rejection until mid April.

No ranking whatsoever, including internal ranking. AOA applications don't open until 4th year and hasn't contributed to any culture of competition in my experience. P/F without ranking lends itself towards a very collaborative and positive culture.

thanks that's very helpful to learn!

GF got an invite recently and wasn’t complete till late Oct. odds are good they’ve seen just about everyone’s app at this point

Does anyone know if the school gives pretty good scholarships for those OOS? I’m super excited to be accepted to my top choice but being from WA and having to pay that out of state tuition is hurting my soul

Can anyone speak to how long/how many stations the Kira talent interview is?

they take update letters if you'd like to send one - for what it's worth I got an interview only after sending an update here! I'm wishing you all the best and luck!
Did you submit in portal or email your update? I read online that they dont accept any updates of any kind…

OOS II today!!!! Recieved the email this morning. applied first day for primary. Secondary was recieved 7/22 and I submitted 8/6. I am from SoCal. Below 500 MCAT. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. 3rd MD invite so far and excited!
Congrats! Do you have any connections to Oregon?

Thanks! I just sent one and it already got added to my file. They need to update their website about not accepting updates!
I agree the updates guidelines are really unclear! I was under the same impression until I interviewed. After completing your interview & MMI circuit you'll get a note at the bottom of your admissions portal that says, "please note that further updates will not reopen your file or change the committee's decision." Seems like you can send updates between when you get invited to interview and your actual interview date.

Has anyone who interviewed in mid-December been put on hold? I haven’t heard back, and I’m curious where others are at

hi sorry i'm pretty sure we signed an agreement to not share interview day details 🙁

however during the orientation, they disclose what the MMI circuit will look like!

Last year I interviewed in early December and didn't hear back until mid April. hang in there!!

mid april is crazy omg. that is only two weeks before the april 30th deadline to choose a med school

i interviewed in january, so i hope i hear back earlier than that

I just checked my portal (did not receive an email) and saw that my application was in the Hold pile. I would highly recommend checking your portal in case your application was also updated if you haven't heard back yet.

Agreed that it's not super clear! I clarified with admissions a few months ago that OHSU does accept update letters via email and will add them to your file for consideration, but only before the committee meets to discuss your file after your interview. Once they've met and discussed your application after your interview, they can't accept further updates at that point.

Hi everyone! I have an interview here coming up in a few days. I just wanted to gauge how the process is. Is it chill? Was the 1-on-1 conversational? Anything I could do in these last few days to prepare? This is my first MMI too and I'm kinda nervous 🥲

MMI is NDA so no specifics, but if you google what to expect from a standard MMI what you'll read is more or less in line with what you should expect.

As for the 1 on 1 mine was very mellow. Its open file but they don't see your GPA or MCAT. Very conversational, I was mostly asked question that were follow ups to things I had already discussed in my primary or secondary application. Just know your application and motivations for medicine well. no part of it really feels like a stress test, people were very friendly imo.

A note on the “acting” stations that surprised me- when you join the “room” they expect you to immediately act, whereas in other ii’s they’ve at least introduced themselves or asked if I understood the question. So don’t get caught off guard there like me!
