Thanks!!! I love the info about the logistics of reapplying and that's definitely great to know. I also appreciate the thoughts about reusing topics. I did not realize there was a review service with SDN and will take a look! From this cycle I believe we were told that reapplicants would definitely have their app side by side their previous year app to see what changed. I think that sticking with things that were really genuine or true, but revising and/or rewriting other things seems to be the consensus and I will get right on that.

I am bummed about not receiving acceptances, but DEVESTATED to have write more... I mean I will.. but it is dreadful

Thanks for the reply!!!!
Did you receive any feedback from the adcom? especially about your writing?

Nothing yet. I immediately reached out for feedback and filled out a request. When I was asking about feedback though they told me that technically I hadn't been rejected yet so it would probably be a long time before I heard anything back, and even longer since so many other people before me who aren't on the waitlist have already requested feedback. That was quite a while ago and I still have not even received receipt of my feedback request, so have sent a follow up email to make sure it doesn't get lost. But, I am super eager to submit my app and don't wanna wait much longer, so currently debating if it is worth waiting for feedback before submitting..

Aw I am sorry, that is a bummer, that must be really frustrating.

How long does it take to be added to the discord page? It’s been over 4 weeks since my acceptance

Unsolicited advice and take it with a grain of salt.

While helpful for a lot of things, Discord is not an official OHSU medium for delivering news and info. Like other forms of messaging platforms, it has its downside. You will definitely survive without it.

Happy to answer any questions about the first week of instructions or anything under the sun within the bounds of my knowledge and wisdom, DM or on here. 😉

Also, you get added to the Discord and Facebook page by a student admissions liaison from the class above you. They work as fast as they can, but keep in mind that they are in the middle of a pretty heavy block and are trying to keep their heads afloat, as you will be. It's not you; it's them. Be patient.

To be clear: I don’t actually feel slighted, personally I don’t even use discord and my comment was in jest. 🙂

Just didn't want you to feel like you were being ignored! I'm sure the admissions liaison will add you soon. 🙂

And you'll want to be on Discord for at least a little while. Our class had some great content that came through there in the early months.

is Dr. Bowen still doing the lectures on tackling clinical vignettes?
