Anyone know if PCOM is done sending IIs? Zero communication since September.

congratulations to those that were accepted today! I emailed admissions asking for clarification on the pace of the cycle and received this in response:

"With the new academic calendar, classes will begin, June 30, 2025.
Specific questions, please email (trimesters@pcom.edu)

We're in the thick of interviews. They'll continue to April, and maybe May. Interview invite are sent out frequently; check your portal/email periodically to see if you're chosen. If you're not, you'll be notified after classes have started."

fear not, fellow 4 bar soldiers. we will hear back soon hopefully (please)
I emailed them a few days ago and got this response. They also confirmed the same during the webinar they held on the 27th, and said that they receive ~7000 apps and interview ~800 people. Not sure how close the class is to being full but someone received an IS II earlier today

wait so we have to check the portal if we are invited to interview? They won't email us to let us know??

was wondering when are you supposed to finish health questionnaire. Is it with in 15 days after network account is created or just before matriculation?
little confused? any insight here.

Do any former or current students know when the appropriate time to apply for Meta Christy Housing is? I saw their applications went out but not sure if they fill right away or we have some time before we should get the applications in.

does anyone's portal look different today, im still at 4 bars but it looks different, can't remember if there was always an "events" tab that is showing up

same. the events tab is new but the entire portal was rearranged it looks like- there was never a pcom pulse section, and the withdrawal form is no longer at the bottom of the page but in the middle of the page in the next steps checklist. lol was hoping this was a glitch and that we were going to get IIs

Definitely hoping this leads to IIs, some other schools have an events tab appear if they’re getting an interview but no one has mentioned anything about that in this thread so idrk

I found the getting started page to be very messy and completely skipped over that part, so thank you! I emailed them to let them know that I am on it and will have it done next week. I am almost 6 weeks post-account, so I am going to finish it ASAP to avoid the complications they threaten.

Saw in the FAQs that it was 8 weeks so I emailed them about it because the form has 15 days on it.

Anyone here also interview on January 8th and still haven’t heard back? I’m getting a little worried because they said it should take around 4-6 weeks to hear back, not sure what this means.

I would not worry too much about a 7 week wait when told 4-6. This is anecdotal, but I have had two schools take 14 weeks to get back this cycle. I interviewed at PCOM mid/late November and got my decision mid January.

I got an email back myself asking me to expedite and send the pages I can do before I meet with primary care next week.

would it benefit me to send a letter of interest (philly ties, top choice (I would literally pay anything to attend lol), very community health oriented) at this point?

I don't think it would hurt (however this is my first cycle so I don't have much to go off of). I've seen you a few times in this thread and I'm rooting for you!! <3

thank you <3 congratulations on your acceptance, hopefully I can join you in the fall!

Letters are hugeee here. Im an oms-2 rn and i got my II in march after sending a letter. Pcom extends interviews alot later than most schools. Like may ish. They like to play late for some reason. As far as A goes they have a 56% overall acceptance rate last time I looked at the stats but I think its in the 70s for IS. So if you've receive an interview its likely you'll get an A even if you don't know how your interview went. As far as the school goes it is what you make out of it. I have made some friendships that will go lifetime. I am very involved for the residency I want (as most med students are) and pcom does an excellent job of setting you up for delish residency as long as you give your best effort. Plus it helps when your school has a residency of most of the competitive specialties so if you're chasing something competitive pcom got you. Good luck to everyone you guys will do amazing things one day 🙂

Do you think letters of intent are also effective post interview?

OOS II this morning, looks like interview dates go into April!

Oh yess! Praying for an II

Question for y'all. If we sent a letter of intent to an MD school, can we also send one to a DO school? PCOM-PA is my #1 choice for DOs and I will 100% attend here if admitted, but I don't want to send a letter of intent here if that's unethical. I'm WL'd at the MD I sent the LOI to and feel my chances of getting in are low.

I'm also WL'd at PCOM-GA right now, so idk if sending an LOI to PCOM-PA will hurt my chances for PCOM-GA. I'm kind of ok with that though b/c there's another DO school I like better than PCOM-GA right now. I also already sent an update letter to PCOM-PA highlighting some significant updates, so is there anything else I can do to maximize my chances of getting an interview there at this point?

Hey I was accepted and want to pay my deposit. There’s not deposit link on my portal? Do I have to hit yes on the accept the offer box, if so is that a binding yes?

Congrats!! When did you hear back? and when did you interview?

It’s binding in that the money is non-refundable. If you will attend PCOM should everything else (waitlists etc) not materialize, then select yes, pay the first deposit (not the second one until needed), and do the other required initial steps. Upon selecting yes, you should have a little checklist of stuff to do including the link tovpay the deposit.

For the first question, that is something you will have to consider yourself. For all the waiting and stress we go through as applicants, it really doesn’t seem too bad in comparison to send a letter of intent to two schools, especially with one being MD and other DO. However, you obviously feel some sort of moral quandary here. I personally would not throw letters of intent around carelessly, but you obviously are not doing that. Given the uncertainty of your MD school, I would absolutely send one to the PCOM campus you most wish to attend. They understand that students accepted to PCOM likely have an MD waitlist or two hanging in the balance, so I don’t see why someone still fighting for that acceptance cannot express that same interest.

I believe it has been said recently that PCOM values LOIs heavily, so I would send one to PCOM-PA and obviously not PCOM-GA. Do not mention the waitlist situation at PCOM-GA or the MD school. Make the letter solely about PCOM-PA. Good luck!

Does pcom give any aid based on fafsa ? or pretty much we have to pay all? Any thing specific if you are instate?
