87 days from today 😢 they do non-rolling admissions, so we all find out on that day together.

Anyone complete in late August/early September catch the R yet?
thank u & @BlueLemur for the insight. was the group exercise stressful? 🙁
Not at all. I joined the in-between zoom session on the breaks where the other interviewees only could hang out and we just vibed and talked the whole time. By the time I had my group interview, I saw a few familiar faces and we all vibed during the group interview. It was not difficult at all.
i love that so much!! oh so it was more so like a group interview instead of a team building thing? that's interesting

For those of you who already interviewed, when are you planning to either send a letter of intent or update letter?

December
Honestly, I need to do something worth an update first. So, probably January or late December. But I think early December would be a good time if you have done something / have a significant update. They are probably starting to look at interviewed applicants and starting to figure out who they want or at least soon.
I was complete 9/2, and still "under review" in the portal!

Hi, I just recently noticed that the thank-you letter I sent to my faculty interviewer (but not student) was uploaded to the portal as a part of my file. I see in the FAQ regarding follow-up letters that they upload communications between the school and student, so I was wondering if this is just their protocol with thank-you emails as well. Silly question probably but it really caught me off guard when I saw it. At least I now know (although in a very roundabout way) that my email was actually read lol

Where exactly did you see they uploaded the letter?

On the document section of the application status tab

My student one was uploaded but not my faculty one! Funny though bc my faculty member mentioned they were an adcom haha so I wouldn't weigh it too much honestly and it probably is just part of protocol

none of my letters were uploaded and I interviewed back in sept, hoping they still read them lol
even though mine isn’t until next month, this makes me feel soooo much better

100% agree, very low stress environment and made to feel like we were already worthy of being there, not having to prove ourselves but rather take the time to tell our story.
Appreciate you, whoever you are!

you are going to kill it! easily one of my fav interviews. they were so welcoming in all the interviews and the group exercise was not stressful at all. I believe in you. wishing you the best!

Totally forgot about the informational sessions. Some aren't available until after my interview, and the email I got said to sign up for them before my interview. Will this penalize me? It's such a trivial question I don't want to bother the adcoms with it but do want to give my best shot for this school

I doubt it matters. I signed up for a few of them after my interview. At the end of the day I would be shocked if they even took attendance of who attended them

Anyone received interviews recently? Or are they done for this cycle?
I would think most, if not all, interviews have been sent for this cycle. I’d not everyone is rejected, then maybe they have some left.
Per the secondary portal they send IIs until early December. So few interviews left but still some

They were very clear in the interview session that they would be sending interview invites until early December. So don't lose hope.
LinkedIn update (from Beth Piraino, 8am ET, 11/12/2024)

Dang I was under the impression they were releasing decisions in January this whole time...just sent in my update letter I had been saving...if they're releasing post-II decisions next week not even sure if they're going to read it but thought I'd shoot my shot 😭
I think it means all decisions on if you are or aren't gonna get an interview?

I think they're just referring to interview invites, not admissions decisions.

Does anyone know where to submit the update letter to? I can't find it in the application portal
email their admissions!
Her post from a week ago said 812 IIs had gone out. MSAR says 1020 interviewed in previous years. What that means in reality idk 🤷♀️🤷

Wow so we can expect at least a 100 more II, that’s insane! I didn’t know they interview that many people.

Any advice for how those that interviewed at Pitt prepared?
Look at the SDN interview page for this school as well as Shemassian (link below); the questions are standardized and don't change very much year to year, so preparing answers to them really helped me!
