silly goofy question, I didn't say yes to Maine track so would that mean I'm boston track? lmao

For the Maine track folks when are you interviews? I didn’t have any options until October

Congrats everyone! Happy to answer any q’s 🙂

For anyone still waiting, just know there are plenty more IIs to come. I got my II end of December and I have classmates who got their IIs in February and are still here.

Thanks for stopping by! What’s your favorite part of Tufts so far? I know you probably just started haha

5. Tufts University School of Medicine is committed to social responsibility, and to serve and advocate for all people. Have you done substantial work or service that has contributed to societal good, or addressed social determinants of health, health equity, or social justice? (Yes/No)
probably a silly question but are they asking us to describe in depth one specific service project here, or would it be okay to talk about a few different experiences that have a common thread?

Either should be fine imo

I talked about multiple on the secondary!

Since I’m just 3 weeks in, I’ll say that I really love how Tufts eased us into med school. I had many friends who were super overwhelmed week 1, honestly our first block (population health, epidemiology, biostats) is very chill and you actually get to enjoy learning and taking in the material without stressing about anki and stuff right away. We literally needed a 55% to pass the exam lol. I felt like it was a great block to prepare us for the profession of medicine in general. And it’s been a good time to get to meet people, get back into learning, and we did some fun lowkey projects around Chinatown as well which also helped us learn about the community we serve/are surrounded by.

There are so community service opportunities, I believe a few times more than what they list on the website. There’s the Welcome Alliance where we do sports physicals for children of immigrants/refugees so that they have that checked off for starting school here, also providing/connecting them to any resources they may need.

All the general things have been good too, like P/F supportive class. I feel like Tufts does a reallyyy good job picking who to hire as faculty/staff. Everyone is so kind and truly passionate about teaching/education. And it seems like they care about our wellbeing too. But you’ll hear that from every student at every school

Thank you for offering! Can I ask how the interview was in terms of stress level? Did you think it was very conversational and chill or did you feel like they hit you random questions that you didn’t feel ready for?

It’s not supposed to be stressful! They said to let them know if we didn’t have a good/conversational interview experience. To be honest I had one faculty interview that was more stressful + was just thrown a bunch of q’s but I didn’t say anything. the other faculty interviews was probably one of my favorites I’ve had and we were just completely chilling. I think most people had two super conversational interviews.

In case they haven’t said, last year everyone had 2 interviews (faculty + 4th year or 2 faculty), each you are allotted 1 hour but usually it goes 30-45 min each. There’s info sessions in the morning but the actual 1:1s happened in the afternoon (ex. Some people had a 1 PM interview and 3 PM interview, and 2 PM was a virtual tour/break). Not sure if that’s changed

Hello, for everyone getting II's, when did you submit your applications? I submitted mine on August 9 but no II yet.

I feel like the people who submitted likely did so in early July. I would be surprised if 8/9 submissions are even close to being reviewed yet!

Makes sense, I hope I am not late. Tufts Med is my top choice!!! I was looking on last years thread and I was seeing people who were complete early-mid Aug getting II as soon as early Sept

Awesome! I think I would expect to hear back mid/late September with an II if you get one! Hoping you get into your top choice!

Submitting in August is not late btw you're still in the "early" to "on time" range for most schools

does "Your application is ready!" status mean they have reviewed my application yet or not gotten to it?

They appear to send interviews in batches, but not every week.
