Congratulations to the pre-matches!!! 🤠 I was wondering if y’all would please share your interview dates, thank you!
 
are pre-match offers chronological? for example, if I interviewed on 10/20 and people who interviewed on 10/30 got an offer today, should I not expect to have a chance at an offer in the next round of pre-matches in Jan as those would only be for people who interviewed after 10/30? thanks

No, don’t overthink it and they just started sending emails a couple of hours ago
 
pretty sure the pre match’s today were early interviews. The person doing the presentation today mentioned there would be a pre match wave this month and next month. Wasn’t expecting right after preview day though lol.

Update: someone from 11/21 got an A… so never mind I have no idea

This is probably a stupid question, but do we have to accept the offer of admission through the portal to keep it, or is accepting that an actual commitment to the school and we have to withdraw from match?

Prematched today! Interviewed 8/15!
 
last year it was right after preview day too!

I'm going to assume that they're done for today. I figured I would be left off because they typically don't send prematches to anyone with an IQ above 200.

It's a win-win: if I don't get a prematch today I won't be worried about it because I already assumed they were done. If I do, it's a great surprise.

You can accept any and all prematches and rank all your interviewed schools for Match
You do need to say yes to keep this school

Ngl I'm pretty disappointed in myself right now. I really thought I had a chance here, I thought my interview went well. Also won't prematch in January because they already covered the date I interviewed on. Is it known how many people match here without a prematch? I know its super low because they're prematch heavy. I've heard about the "1 in 7" prematch stat l but feel like it would be much higher here, so I'm losing hope. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

The offers are not based on your date of interview but on their assessment of your total application.
Still rank all your schools for match day, it is too early to be so hard on yourself
 
No Prematch, LM 69, Interviewed 09/12. Only 3 interviews this cycle and this was the only school id be happy attending, I know some of you all will think that's ungrateful but I can't help how I feel. Fingers crossed for a pre-match in January. Going to start exploring other careers in the meantime. Congrats to all who prematched, enjoy this moment.
 
Did they say anything about acceptances or scholarships today? (People who went to the campus tour)

your feelings are your feelings, no judgement
You can still rank all of your 3 schools for Match Day and you might just end up matching to UTMB
 
Was this the only date for pre matches or will they be trickling in throughout the month?

I’m just confused why people are being so hard on themselves? Was this the only date they prematch? Why is everyone freaking out ?

ppl usually think it's in chronological order, so if they see someone who got a prematch that interviewed September and they also interviewed September, they think the school is already done looking at all the September interviewers.

I think many of us are used to being the best of the best, so it can be a bit jarring to realize that in this new environment we are wanting to enter we may just be average, which is perfectly fine since an average doctor is still a doctor lol

Plus, holiday season… I imagine there are a lot of users with family members hounding them for updates and scolding them for not being accepted yet despite As this early being rare for Texas schools.

What you’re saying is perfectly rational, but most of the anxiety here is the result of other things… not much you can do but offer your encouragement. We’re in this together 🙂

Oh totally, I mean, I prematched to another school, and once the first wave went by and I didn't get it, I got incredibly anxious. I was mostly confused because people were making it seem like today was the only day prematches were sent, which made no sense to me.

The only thing I can really give as advice is just to chill out because you can't really change your outcome. I'm sure that 99% of the people who interviewed here have interviewed somewhere else, which not only shows that they are great candidates but also means that they have options other than UTMB.

Life is and will always be about learning how to face uncertainty. Just relax, use your support system, and let things run their course.
