I just took it, it's pretty much the same. 2 minutes for each response, same questions as in your secondaries and be prepared to answer "Why Dell?"

Not everyone receives one, only 20%. I saw last year some people received one like months after but some may never

Not for me. All I got was a message at on the same website I did the video secondary on. If you try to click back on your interview link it will tell you "It seems you have already applied for this program in the past. We are looking over your information."

I also did not get a confirmation email. However, it took about 2 business days for the portal to reflect the submission. So don't worry!
Can someone that got an email for primary application received on 07/02 or afterwards share when they receive a secondary? Just want to know if my primary has been passed on or not upon their initial review! Thanks 🙂

Does anyone have information regarding the percentage of applicants who receive interview invitations from Dell Medical School ?
Last year Dell interviewed 385 people, 348 in-state, for a class size of 50.
They send secondary apps to about 20% of applicants, spaced out over several months.
Remember, not all who complete the secondary will progress to an interview

According to Admit.org data from last year's cycle, secondaries were sent all the way up to December. The bulk of secondaries were sent during July, though it is still early in the month.

Do you know 20% who got secondaries translates to how many number of applicants ?
The number of applicants for all of the schools is on MSARS. For Dell the break down is:
Applications (4162 IS / 1102 OOS / 23 Int'l)
Interviewed (348 IS / 36 OOS / 0 Int'l)
Matriculated (45 IS / 5 OOS / 0 Int'l)

Verified in July, secondary today. LM 80
tbf I think I am a Texas resident but TMDSAS refuses to classify me as one lol. Maybe Dell agrees with me? idk

OOS secondary received 7/10, receipt 6/26 (LM 73.5, ties to TX)

I got my secondary late December, and just started as an MS1 here a couple weeks ago. Dont worry too much about the timing of the secondary 🙂

Woah, even after searching this prior to my TMDSAS submission, I had noooo idea how IS focused Dell was (nor did I know the class sizes are only around 50 students)!

I just wanted to ask if this is what the secondary portal website should look like for those who had gotten an email confirming receipt of application but have not received a secondary invitation. This is my "Status" page. I am somewhat confused why it states that the "Secondary Application Submitted" and "Application has not been submitted" if I have not received the secondaries to begin with.

Under Texas state law, ALL of the TMDSAS medical schools are required to fill their classes with 90% in-state students. The numbers just look more stark when looking at Dell stats because they have such a small class size.
Only exception is Baylor which is officially a private school and State pays them for as many IS students they admit. So they are closer to 85%?

Congrats! I also completed my secondary on July 1. Do you remember around what time in the day you finished it?
So I did mine late on July 1st, and it showed on my portal not being complete till July 2nd

I got the application receipt the same day I was notified of my verification from TMDSAS. I do not have an interview yet. I only got the video secondary the day after my application receipt.
Don't be ridiculous, know that Dell spaces out their secondary invitations over many months.
When did you submit your application? Was it a late application and thus a late secondary? Or did you really have to wait a long time, think you got passed over, and then ended up getting the secondary?

Does anyone else with decent stats and a great fit for Dell feel like their app got passed up? I wonder what they’re looking for.

I feel like my story was a great fit and I have a lot of hours (volunteering and clinical exposure). My MCAT I think helped as my GPA is not superb but I was surprised that I even got a secondary, let alone an interview.

Dell looks for service and good variation.
very sure they have multiple application review passes. even last year, people who got secondaries in November still got into Dell, so its just a waiting game
I actually spoke too soon! I got a secondary invite this morning. Primary app receipt email was on 07/02. Thank God! Keep me in your prayers y’all and let me know if I can answer any questions! 🙂
