its still pretty early in the cycle, i wouldnt recommend anyone worry too much rn.

if anyone is reading this right now and worried, just chill, enjoy life, you will get your IIs soon. frankly speaking, worrying ain't gonna do anything except get you stressed and make you unhealthy. your goal is to keep your future patients healthy, dont forget to keep yourself healthy too.

Hi everyone,
I submitted my AMCAS application to Oklahoma last week but I have not received a secondary. How long after submitting your primary did people get a secondary? Thank you!

I think it took me a couple weeks after being verified.

I have ties to Oklahoma and I submitted my secondary and the extra supplemental application but I found no place to state my ties on either application. How were you guys able to explain your ties? Thank you!

The main essay asks Why OU medical school? That's the perfect place to mention ties to Oklahoma.
Yes I should have done that. I thought people got an "OK Ties" tab on some application where they could state their ties so I didn't mention it in my "Why OU Medical School" essay. Maybe I could send in an update.

Hi all, I’m trying to decide whether or not to apply here. Do they still ask you to list other schools you applied to on the secondary? I have 45 others and don’t think they’d be too enthused to interview me if they saw that.

You could apply here but they heavily favor in state so unless you have a true connection I would save the money.

I think they actually have one of the highest OOS acceptance rates (20% if my math is right). Maybe those admits just have connections or are mission fit from nearby states. Shooting my shot and just submitted primary to them lol

they interview 20% of OOSers yea. Less than 10% of OOS matriculate though so its a huge reduction from the 85% app pool but if you would attend why not?

My tour group early September was told that they could start giving out A’s tomorrow. Has anybody toured more recently and have updated info?

For those who interviewed recently, did admissions mention when they’ll be sending out their first wave of acceptances? I thought I heard mid-October but idk if that’s happening.

I was told by admissions a few days ago that they would be sending the first acceptances in late October. I interviewed 8/13 and they said they were unsure of when they would officially start but that everyone would hear back by the end of January.

Got told the same thing. I interviewed like right after you did. They told me acceptances come out from Oct 31st to Jan 31st.

I believe the answer is no but just in case anyone has heard differently: does OU accept post-ii updates?

In my interview day I think they said they accept them but that they do not make a difference as they lock in scores immediately after your interview. I believe her example was- if you cured cancer and update us, great! we are so happy and ecstatic about that, but it will not affect anything in your application as you've already been locked

I was told the same thing! Immediately after adcoms convene after your interview your score is locked !

Hey, I’m an MS1 at OU. First off, I want to wish everyone a successful applicant cycle! In case anyone doesn’t know, OU changed their curriculum starting with my class and with that change, was an increase in out of state students.
Almost ~40% of my class is OOS.
As a current MS1, do you like the new curriculum, and are they open to feedback about it since y'all are the first class and there are probably a lot of kinks to work out? Also, how have you been liking OU? Thanks!
