I had my SCM interview today and the admissions team at Tulsa said that the admissions committee has their final meeting next week on Wednesday where they will make their final decision on everyone's application. After that we should be hearing news back.

Do you know what this means for okc applicants? because i've heard u can't get accepted to tulsa until u get accepted to okc, so does this mean that the okc adcoms will meet by then as well?

+1 OOS WL, interview Oct 5

anyone know how the WL goes?
To my understanding, as per last year there was basically very little waitlist movement. But I think they have been shifting their admissions process this year so I guess we'll see what happens.

During the tour, they said that the waitlist was "a great spot to be in". U should definitely expect some movement because OU is interviewing 300 IS and OOS, and how many of those OOS people are actually going to end up going to OU as their first choice??

Yea I recall them saying this as well at my tour but if you check the last year SDN it looks like the waitlist is basically a soft R

They interviewed around 700 people right?

IS WL interviewed 11/9. Second time applying. LM 66. Previous time had LM 60 so improved my MCAT significantly.

Do you all believe it’ll be like last years WL with all the confusion and 300+ list. My friend who is an MS4 said his class and MS3 were both small lists with many accepted off the WL. He said in his MOD he has 5-6 from the WL. Additionally, he believes this class will shift to a more IS over OS class (sorry to my out of state companions). Another friend who is an MS3 made it sound like it was the worst thing ever I was waitlisted so I’m a bit confused what to think.

I was also IS WL. I hope you’re correct about shifting to a more IS class, especially with the new changes favoring a pretty OOS friendly program (last year’s entering class was 45% OOS I believe). Unlike some other state schools, they no longer have to admit a certain percentage Oklahoma residents.

I think so just because of the number they interviewed and based off the amount of people that got put on the waitlist today. Sounds like it's gonna be like last year's unfortunately.

+OOS WL (strong ties to OK, reapplicant)

Great when a school tells you in the interview verbatim you're a "standout candidate" and then hits you with the WL.

I'm curious if they sent out definitive rejection emails or, if like last year, most everyone receives a waitlist email as a soft R.

IS WL, curious to see how they use the waitlist. I feel like I hear both, that they use the waitlist a good bit and that they rarely take students off of it

Also idk if this affects admissions at all but a resident at OU told me that some director or someone heavily involved with admissions (i don't remember exactly what she said) quit during December and they have been scrambling around regarding that

From the waitlist email... looks like the dean of admissions cause it was signed from an interim dean ?

they told the parents/guests at the in-person tour that being on the waitlist is good and that they were going to flat-out reject more people this year... who knows how true that is though
