WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO just got accepted! Auburn here I come!!!!!!!!!!
:hardy:😍😍:biglove::biglove::banana:🤣:clap::soexcited:😀
Congrats, Riley! Good luck with your decision. I'm looking forward to meeting you if you choose Auburn!
ETA: oh, and I love the goat avatar!

congrats!!!!!!!! i thought you'd appreciate my new avatar. i had been waiting to change it til i had heard from all the schools. 🙂

First off, congratulations to all those accepted! Good luck to those still waiting to hear :xf::luck:. I hate to shamelessly promote, but for all those who got accepted and will be attending Auburn next year, I've created a facebook group. Search for Auburn University CVM Class of 2014. Thanks 👍 I look forward to meeting you all

does anyone know what the application for admission is for, that came with the acceptance letters?

Riley, basically you have to fill that out and turn it in if you choose to accept. It's like $40 dollars I believe to hold your spot. However, if you want to decline, you can do that over the phone or through an e-mail.

thanks for your response 🙂 just thought it was kind of odd to fill out another application if we have already been accepted. but a $40 deposit is insanely inexpensive!! ah decisions decisions. thanks for your help wolfpack. 😀

No problem Riley. 😎 I sort of hope you pick Auburn...but I must say I'm a little biased. 😀 Good luck with your decision. Oh, and $40 is very inexpensive. Good thing for me.

Congrats MizMarley! So are you going to attend Auburn?

I think so considering I didn't get in anywhere else. Alternate at Mississippi State, Kansas State and Michigan State, but I will soon be letting them know to take me off. I really liked Mississippi State though! 🙂

Sorry 🙁 There's still hope though!

Thanks, I've heard of people getting called off a week after, but also a week before classes start too. I wish Auburn would let you know where you stand, as far as the alternate list. It would sure make me feel better. The IS alternate list probably won't move as quick as OOS, so I'm not sure. I plan on keeping my phone glued to my hip though 😉 just in case.

i'm flying down to revisit and take another tour of the campus (without the nerves of the interview!!) next week, and to check out the housing situation. if anyone has any questions (especially those unable to travel to auburn right now) let me know and hopefully i can find answers for you while i'm there. i can even take pictures of places and email them if that helps. 😀 feel free to PM me!

CONGRATS!!!!! Welcome to the Auburn family!!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!

Thank you, Sofficat! 😍
Do you happen to know if there's a class of 2010 facebook group? I feel like that would be a good way to get an exchange of housing info going between students looking to buy and sell this summer.

I don't know about a fb group for 2010. Don't worry much about housing- this is a college town and there is always available housing.

I live in a 2 bedroom condo, and my roommate and I are both moving out. My roommate (the owner) is looking for someone to rent a room in the condo. It's about a 4 minute drive from the vet school. It is super nice! It has hardwood floors (carpet in the bedrooms and tile in the bathrooms), granite countertops (in the kitchen and bathroom), stainless steel appliances, and crown molding. It will be partially furnished (like in the living area). It is close to the main campus so there are college kids living around, but the condo is on the third floor at the end of the building away from the road so its pretty quiet. If you are interested then you can send me a PM!

Oh and my roommate is looking for a job and may stay in the other room if she finds a job in the area. She is very quiet and doesn't party. If she gets a job somewhere else she'll be looking for 2 people to rent so 2 vet students can take both rooms!

congrats hna, sarchick, and mizmarley!!! 😀

I JUST GOT ACCCEPPPPTTEEEDDD WAAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im sorry but this is my dream and I cannot express into words how happy I am!!!!!

Congrats MrDoAnything! So is Auburn your #1 choice?

thanks wolfpack and crittergal. Yeah I think this is it and I'll be joining the facebook group here in a bit.

Congrats to all!! Btw... I think that since a lot of TU sudents are moving to auburn as well, we should have a TU/Auburn get together! I'm moving down in july and it would be really great to meet people.(Esp because we could end up as neighbors!)

i'm planning to move in july as well 🙂 if i find a place to live by then!

Is anyone going to Family Night/Open House in April? I'm not sure if I can make it?

Also, are most of you planning on living alone or with a roommate?

i'm hoping to go but not sure if i can make it either. idk if i should rsvp just in case or not. i'll be living alone.

I'm not sure I'll be able to make it either -- if I do go, I'll have to reschedule two finals, and I know that one of my professors will be difficult about that (he was snotty about me missing class for an interview, heaven knows what he'll do if I ask to reschedule an exam).
I'm planning on living alone, and really, REALLY looking forward to it!

I plan on attending Family Night/Open House. As far as the living situation goes, I'm not sure yet if I'll be living with someone or not. I sort of want to have one roommate...just to have that interaction. I guess I could always get me a cat or something.

Sent in my deposit and paperwork today!!! 😀😀😀

I sent in the AU Application and $40.00 fee. Is that the deposit you are talking about?

I'm just afraid I'm going to miss something! Making all these plans to move and finance school is making me crazy!!

yep that's what i'm talkin about! i just have the medical form left to send. i'm hoping i'm not forgetting anything either. 😀

Are there anymore Auburn acceptances out there?

I got in out of state, if anyone else did, how do you plan to pay? It is my dream school but I don't know if I should wait a year and risk it...... any advice????????

what would waiting a year do if it's your dream school...would you be gaining residency?

Ugh i got an email from Kaye today titled alternate status and I thought for sure I was being accepted....nope haha....she just wanted anyone who had accepted another school to tell her. Gosh what a let down

Yup, I would become a resident, cut the total debt in half, but I'm worried I will be burning a bridge.. the school may hold the fact that I rejected them already and wouldn't be willing to give me a bid for in state

I don't think they would hold that against you at all! As long as you explain to them why you did it...they will totally understand. Plus I feel like if you were accepted as an OOS student then you'd probably be accepted as an IS student. I think you should call Kaye and check with her and see what she advises. I think it almost says more about how you want to go to Auburn that you picked up and moved to Alabama to become a resident. I'm sure they'd see that as a real desire to attend the school

i would DEFINITELY call and talk to someone before making a decision. just because you got accepted OOS one year doesn't mean you'll have a better shot at getting accepted IS the next. the applicant pools are different every year. and the OOS applicants can't be compared to the IS applicants. although there have been success stories of people declining an offer of admission and being accepted the next year, you will find many scenarios on this forum where people have declined an offer of admission and then weren't accepted the next year.

please please call and find out what they have to say before making a decision. congrats on your acceptance and i hope you are able to make the best decision for yourself!

i completely understand your worry about the debt.

I would triple and quadruple check that you CAN become a resident. From my understanding (I was accepted OOS, too) if they can prove that you gained residency just for the purpose of IS tuition they will still consider you OOS. Like you would have to live here with your family in high school for a year to get acceptable residency. But I may be wrong. Kaye Storey would probably be the person to talk to anyway.

my heart skipped a beat when I saw that email. talk about a major letdown!

on another note, it's good to know the waitlist will be moving soon! 9 more daysss ugh

I know i looked into gaining residency.. as an undergrad they told me I couldn't be a full time student (which was impossible because my scholarship required me to be..), had to have a full time job while paying state taxes, and owning property for at least 9 months or it may be up to 12 by now. I'm not sure. Alabama does a WHOLE lot to ensure that you can't just gain residency easily. Also, I did learn that if OOS people marry Alabama kids we get IS tuition starting the following year LOL.. just to throw that out there. 😉

I had trouble with them believing that I was an Alabama resident. In my 26 years, I have never lived outside of my little country town. I drive across the state line into Florida to go to school and I had to provide like seven different documents stating that I was a resident of Alabama, i.e. marriage cert, tax info, baptism cert, letter from university stating I was an out of state student, letter from landlord, etc (all because I went to a non Alabama school 😕). So I really think it would be next to impossible to try and gain residency just to go to school.....they will find out 😉

I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got a call from kaye while i was at work today... almost had a heart attack!! CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU ALL!!
