This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey guise! sorry I had a bday marathon these last 2 days and I just caught up on the thread
HOLY HELL wtf is going on
Going with everyone's thinking, I am inclined to lynch epi but will hold off until she comes on to make a defense
I still have my group PM to read so there may be some more discussion there, I just wanted to let y'all know I'm alive 😀

Won't know if I'll have time to check in before deadline Bc of work.

I agree with some u you guys **lynch epi** willing to waffle if I could check in before deadline

... and now I'm changing my mind. unlynch Hedgie (can always come back to that) and lynch MDreamaker. This post has wolf written all over it.

Gawd I swear guys I'm not a wolf! This is my first game ever ... Why would I attack and shoot myself the other night?? I will role reveal to my group if need be!

I haven't heard from epi today so she may be silenced. She has been quiet and not helpful in PMs but said it was due to busyness in school. I had decided to keep a suspicious eye on her to see if she said more today as she said she would be catching up. No info on role at all. She is not the sharpest crayon in the box, but neither are the rest of you so that's not meaningful.
As persuasive as "But I'm not a wolf!" is, ****lynch MDreamer****

Lynch Closed!

Everyone entered the court room solemnly and took their seats. Rojo had decided that a court room approach to these lynches. I mean this is still a democracy, and thus they should be convicted, not just voted upon by a jury of their peers. The lawyer decided to represent epivet, feeling like the accused should get the best attorney, since the penalty is death. The lawyer sits down next to Epivet on one side of the courtroom. On the other side sits the completely untrained defense attorney, Orca. Originally, this position was supposed to be filled by WolfSpeaker, but due to her recent death, someone had to step up to take her place.

They start with their opening arguments. "Your honor." Starts the lawyer, addressing the judge's chair, where Rojo is residing. " My client has never committed a single crime in his life. Sure, maybe he's a bit of a gossip, and maybe he talks a bit more than he should, but not once, has he ever committed any of the atrocities that you all are claiming that he has. My clients just a simple man, trying to live a simple life.

The defense attorney takes his seat, while Orca stands up. "Your honor. This man has been accused of some great crimes, including being a part of "The Family" and even killing! Yes, your honor, this man has been accused of killing WolfSpeaker at exactly 10:45 last night. My witnesses and testimony will prove that Epivet was in fact the person who killed our beloved district attorney. Thank you.

The lawyer stands up and calls his first witness. Epivet, would you please take the stand. Epivet walks over to the witness box and is sworn in. Now Epivet, the detective over here is claiming that you killed someone at 10:45 last night. Where were you at 10:45 last night?"

"I was sitting at a bar with some friends, trying to forget about the evil occurences that were going on. I mean, heck, a freaking skeleton came to life in front of our eyes."

"Now, do you know if this bar happened to have a security camera?"

"I don't happen to know."

"Well, it did in fact have a video camera. Your honor, I would like to submit article number 3 to evidence, the video tape of the bar that night, which will show that epivet was in the bar, in that one bar stool, from 9:45 until 12:15. Thus your honor, I make a motion to have this trial thrown out and all charges dismissed, since your prosecutor has no other evidence to all of these erroneous allegations, except for the murder of WolfSpeaker."

Rojo thinks to himself for a second. "Motion granted, case dismissed."

Everyone leaves the courtroom, leaving orca all by herself. She was so sure that it had to have been epivet. She looks back to her notes and sees the time of 12:45. It was 12:45 not 10:45. Epivet could still be in the family! She starts to sprint to gather everyone back into the court room, and is met with a bullet to the back of her head before she could get to the door.

Epivet was not convicted, and was able to escape the lynch! No one (except Orca) has died today.

write up has been updated. Start sending your night actions in.

Night Deadline is set for 12:30 AM EST (Unless everyone gets their night actions in sooner than that)

Yup, definitely could not have played this game and kept up.

You all talk way too much and the deadlines aren't even deadlines.... it is all over the damn place. They are also occurring too fast. I like to break from SDN/WW and have a life. Definitely could not have done this game.

And the write ups are all tl;dr.... once they get over 5 or 6 lines my mind instantly scrolls to the bottom to see who died/what happened then I never read the rest.

Uh.. Does that mean epi has the ability/power to survive a lynch (or maybe several lynches)?

I did not know this game entails so much.. It's kind of confusing me

Lynch avoidance is a common mechanic, especially for wolves. There are usually one or two players with lynch avoidance in a given game. Other common abilities include seering (lets you see a player's role), blocking (prevents players from using a power), and protecting (keeps a character safe during the night). Occasionally there are chaos roles, who have separate win conditions from those of the wolves or villagers, and might have to defeat one or both other groups, such as BB's necromancer role. That pretty much covers the basic stuff we've encountered so far.

that sounds like a lot of get off my lawn

ive thought of using that strategy to try to check on people... not sure how I feel about it. Glad I'm always in conversations regardless, and actually, most veteran wolves take the wolfing off of SDN and onto google docs, and will continue to do it even moreso because of these reasons...

Yo I was the first one here in pre-vet to make a wolf google doc just so you all know. In DVMD's massive game. 😎

Also, this game looks like another noob game. Noobs.

Everyone looks like a noob when youve been here since Fidel Castro was in power in Cuba, Bush was in office, and the economy was still good.

meh. I appreciate faster paces.

There is a difference between a faster pace and moving way too fast.

Also, it has been shown in past games that the vast majority of talk during the lynch happens within the 30-40 minutes before the deadline. People see a deadline and try to make it a point to check in close to when it ends. That is why we have had many times where a lynch completely flips from one person to another 5 minutes before close.

So closing a lynch hours early because not many people are talking, to me, is taking away from the game and making it difficult for everyone to participate. (Minus there being obvious info with big bandwagons).

These games are based on player participation, but if the mod doesn't try to facilitate that, then the game doesn't work as well.

That is just my opinion.

i agree. Unless its a landslide (like the previous vote), I don't like changing deadlines.

I understand. I'm just haven't been worried about it thus far.

If STL wants to run a faster paced game with long write-ups, then that's his prerogative. It's not like he didn't give warning to people that they would have to be active and around.

If people don't want to read the write-ups, then they don't have to. I'll usually skim and then read in detail when I'm off my phone.

This is true, but I would never expect players to all be available for multiple days on end whenever I feel like ending things.

I didn't even know Hedgie was playing: lynch hedgie because every time I don't Hedgie is a Wolfy McSneakster and it bites me in the ass.

My favorite is when we were wolves together in the covenant game and you came in and suggested we kill hedgie night 1 because I usually make it close to the end by being quiet and people forgetting that I'm playing. At that point someone pointed out to you it's probably a bad idea to kill your fellow wolf.

I think if you are going to run a game where you want to have multiple cycles in a day, not pay attention to deadlines, etc then you need to lay that out before sign ups... people have lives and cannot be around all the time... and some of us live on different time zones as well... it is just not feasible to be around

WW does not need to be 24/7
