Must have been another game then. I just remembered some kind of argument about game balance requiring conversions and something or other being discussed in the spectator chat. It's not super important.Nope, conversion didn't trump night cancel in Telenovela. Intuitively, that wouldn't make sense to me, since it's a night action - why should it proceed even if night is canceled?
I've seen wolf item makers at least a couple of times. It's not super common. And yes, Trilt was an original wolf and a tinker in Lion King.
I'm super lost right now, tbh. The players I would want to vote for today based on gameplay (hyge and ski) both have abilities that don't sound inherently wolfy. A wolf shouldn't have night cancel, that makes no sense. But chaos could. Ski claims to be item maker, but that's literally the only defense, and it came out of nowhere. Possibly like a wolf who happens to have an ability that can come off as villager and didn't know how else to defend. At least hyge is helpful with information about the show.
I'd really like to hear from both hyge and ski who they think is wolfy, instead of hiding behind their abilities as their only defense.
was it in the vet ww game?Must have been another game then. I just remembered some kind of argument about game balance requiring conversions and something or other being discussed in the spectator chat. It's not super important.
I'm working on it. I'm home from work now, so working against the clock to shift through the rest of today's conversation and reply.Although I would like to hear more from you @PrincessButterCup. You've been playing a bit differently from how I remember your normal in this game and I'm curious about why
it's almost like we would need an ability to seer or something...I like this thinking. Hyge had some strange comments earlier, but having such an innocuous ability had somewhat cleared her in my mind. Chaos would make sense - I could see chaos having that ability (but if she's chaos and that's her only ability, she's kind of a lame chaos).
It's really easy to make items that seem helpful but are actually malicious. So it's possible that Ski is a wolf tinker, and her items may have some harmful affect, may give inaccurate results, or may not work at all (by design). Or she's village. Or she's wolf and creates items as if she were a villager, in order to avoid suspicions. Wolf tinkers show up every once in a while, so there's no way to really "clear" Ski just based off an ability reveal.
Sorry, I get off work at like 4:30 MDT and my normal 45 minute commute turned into nearly 2 hours because no one knows how to deal with rain/windmageddonSAR (though less so after her post a bit ago, but then she peaced out again)
I meant as of this moment and what's been discussed on the thread.it's almost like we would need an ability to seer or something...
😵
Im just of the opinion when you have a claimed powerful role, like tinkerer, you probably shouldn't vote them just because you feel like it. we already know there's some seer ability based on how DocE was outedI meant as of this moment and what's been discussed on the thread.
you think the tinkerer role might not have an obvious name? really?I think we know specifically that there is a role name seer, given what information was outted.
Unless of course MJ (or unnamed source) just knows because he (he/she) is a wolf.

Did I miss something - were you a 1x day assassin, or was this an item? I think it was a really odd use of that power. DocE was already going down, and you did speed the process along, but I thought it was really likely we'd end on plurality? Unless we're not using plurality rules this game . . . In any case, i thought the choice/timing was strange.Just as an aside, wolves couldn't have planned the genny death specifically as they didn't know I was going to shoot DocE or, if they did, when I would do it.

Wut? I was talking about docE. The information provided on the thread was his role name. Hence, there is likely someone who can obtain role names. I didn't say anything about the tinkerer.you think the tinkerer role might not have an obvious name? really?

it came right after my comment about seering ski instead of lynching them.Wut? I was talking about docE. The information provided on the thread was his role name. Hence, there is likely someone who can obtain role names. I didn't say anything about the tinkerer.
I agree with this. I was kind of confused/surprised. Assassin roles are usually balance against strong wolves....that would be a waste.Did I miss something - were you a 1x day assassin, or was this an item? id go for itCould do a PBC vote at this time.
I'm a one shot day vigilante. I also think that this scenario is one of the only legitimate uses of the day vig role because it was likely I'd kill a wolf for village rather than letting discussion stall out after everyone lynched DocE and left for the day, or DocE would be village so we could lynch MJ or whoever on the bad info rather than wasting two lynch days sorting the matter out. I don't like using an assassin shot unless there is a very good chance it's aimed at a wolf and that's what I did today. I find it a little odd actually that you think it's a weird use of the role because I think it's a decently strategic use of it.Did I miss something - were you a 1x day assassin, or was this an item? to our knowledge that could have been a lynch avoidance.
I will let vmh answer this so I'm not defending them rather than letting them defend themselves yada yada... But I really don't like this post and it makes me more comfortable with where my vote lies.
My role PM inclined me to believe I'm not the only assassin in the game. And, as of late in games there haven't been many wolves who could only be killed by assassin shot or who explicitly needed an assassin shot to dieI agree with this. I was kind of confused/surprised. Assassin roles are usually balance against strong wolves....that would be a waste.
The "more discussion" excuse seemed lame to me.
****unlynch hyge. Lynch vetmed******
our lynch is our weapon. better to use votes to analyze wagons than to all pile on a seered player. it was an appropriate use of powerDocE had 12 out of 18 votes at the point he was shot. I just don't understand why that ability was used on him when he could have been lynched by plurality anyway - but I'll have to go back to the opening post and see if those rules are in play.
I hadn't accounted for the skipped night cycle in my original thought. Since it was mid-day, Dubz probably would have kept night open until original deadline or close to that - so VMH did save quite a bit of time. I didn't consider that. I guess that makes her action make more sense, but I still think it was odd and worth noting.
Yup, he implied some kind of trap -- avoidance or retaliatory kill -- about 6 times. Also I can't remember where he said it but DocE implied he had a death avoidance somewhere and I figured if he didn't die by assassin shot then it would at least make it more likely he'd successfully die in a lynch and, again, save us from wasting two lynch days
I remember pointing this out at some point yesterday(?). It was his "id be okay with going down mid game in a tie with STL" that made me think that. Also I can't remember where he said it but DocE implied he had a death avoidance somewhere and I figured if he didn't die by assassin shot then it would at least make it more likely he'd successfully die in a lynch and, again, save us from wasting two lynch days
Oh, I definitely think you did a good job! I agree completely. Also I can't remember where he said it but DocE implied he had a death avoidance somewhere and I figured if he didn't die by assassin shot then it would at least make it more likely he'd successfully die in a lynch and, again, save us from wasting two lynch days
No silly, lynch closed at 9 😉****ing phone lynched closed at 6
