This is the second day in a row that I have not done a thing to put my house together. Where the hell did my motivation go? I also saw that this semester's bill has been charged to my bursar account. I officially have zero dollars to spend on nice things, or things at all really. I think that and the 108 degree heat index may be my answer...![]()
Just helped a fellow classmate move in. I moved at the start of the summer for unrelated reasons...I don't know how y'all end-of-summer movers are able to start school and unpack at the same time! I still have stuff to deal with and put away. Can we all just agree that moving sucks?
It IS kind of fun to nest in a new place, though.
Orientation tomorrow. And my house is a **** hole.
The more classmates that I become friends with on Facebook the more I'm feeling inadequate and behind. 🙁 Starting to stress about if I'll be able to handle my classes, get involved enough, get a job next summer, ect.
Seriously, stop comparing yourself to others starting now. You're going to make yourself miserable especially when school starts and grades come out. Do the best you can do and be proud of what you've accomplished 👍

You got into vet school, you are all vet students now... there is nothing to compare each other against. Also, try to stay away from those that do compare, it isn't worth it. I have no idea my classmates previous GPA's/experience/whatever... I have a vague idea of who is interested in equine med, who food animal and who is cat/dog... but even that is a very vague idea. I don't know my other classmates' exam scores or anything and honestly I do not care... that is for them to worry about, not me. Worry about yourself, study hard and do your personal best... it isn't a competition.
I'M moving to Ohio tomorrow! Not just my stuff! 😀
It's really not a competition anymore. Ultimately you should want your whole class to be smart, compassionate, hard working vets because that is the best thing for all the animals out there. So do your best, don't freak out if someone else has more experience or knowledge about something, think to yourself how glad you are they will be really helping their patients - and learn from them! And teach people the things that you know more about. And remember that no one is good at everything. I had to teach a classmate how to pick up a dog. On the other hand, a classmate had to teach me to listen to a rumen. Everyone has something that they are just plain clueless about and will appreciate an understanding teacher.
Hey 2017ers!!!! If you have worked at Banfield prior to vet school there are openings posted for student ambassador positions on the Banfield site. I know there are openings at UTK, Missouri Ohio, Tufts, Cornell and CSU.. I just submitted my app for the Missouri position so![]()
😀
Where did you find that? We have a Banfield on campus so I'm thinking maybe they don't need student ambassadors =\
Oh and I found it because the other ambassador for Mizzou sent a mass email telling us that the other position was open.. But if you go to the Banfield website and click on careers you can search for the ambassador position and all of the openings will pop up!
Poop. When I did that, only one for Ohio State popped up. Oh well, there's a ton of rep opportunities opening up on my campus for once!
Just made color coded schedules on excel for the first two months of school to print out and put on my cork board. I'm not used to having a constantly changing schedule!
Hehe I have to show you my schedule one of these days. It's pretty OCD, but I'm very proud of it!!
Haha, I actually saw the one you posted in here last fall and modeled mind after that 🙂
STALKER! Hehehehe 😉
Wow. we have almost 37% males in OKstate's incoming class. Good jorb, boys! It's not so bad to match wits with women. Our bark is worse than our bite. 😉
Hey STB! We can be friends! Whenever I met people over the last week here, I have tried not to bring up ANY vet med related/undergrad major/vet school conversations. Just got to know about the person, where they were from and what they liked to do in their free time. Since I still don't believe I belong here, I found that I wouldn't compare myself to my classmates if I stuck to those conversations. Everyone I have met from our class so far has been EXTREMELY friendly! I think (hope) we will be okay 🙂 I look forward to meeting you if you are going to the class picnic tonight!! Stay positive, you belong here!! We will all get through it together 🙂The more classmates that I become friends with on Facebook the more I'm feeling inadequate and behind. 🙁 Starting to stress about if I'll be able to handle my classes, get involved enough, get a job next summer, ect.

I'm actually curious how you guys did this, because I am strugglebusing on mine.

I now have my new Ohio Driver's license, voter's registration, Buck ID and Vet School ID. Excited to start my new journey but it was kind of sad when the BMV guy said he was going to shred my PA license and I couldn't get it back 🙁
North Carolina didn't take my Texas license AND this year when I moved I filled out the online form and they sent me a brand new license so I may or may not have sold my old one to a friends 19 year old girlfriend who looks a lot like me.
Moving is the worst. I just want all my stuff to be where it's supposed to be and not in the 60+ boxes it's currently in. Blergh. 🙁

Bought a bunch of furniture at a resale shop today. Got chairs, a desk, coffee table, kitchen table, and tv stand all for $50. Hope it all fits in my apartment.
