One of my vet school classmates moved to Australia from Canada after graduation. With her Great Dane. I can’t even.
That's step 1 towards selecting our 4th year rotations, and the Associate Dean was questioning why we'd need it more than a few days in advance. Spoiler alert: We need it more than a few days in advance! And draft isn't until (tentatively) February, so he either saw the light or got outvoted lol.I'm looking at 2 quizzes and 6 finals and I have to answer the reviewer questions for my research proposal. Which I was supposed to submit to my advisor for review yesterday so I for sure have to get it done today. And my give-a-**** is plummeting. Help!
I got the reviewer questions done and submitted, and made decent headway on therio, ophtho, anesthesia, and food animal. Then I spent the rest of my evening playing around with the matrix as my reward 😉 I suppose I'll do some work today, too. Eventually....Seems like everyone I talk to is struggling with this right now. I am doing course evaluations instead of studying.
I’ve heard the Sarcoptes made the stratum corneum run in less than 12 parsecsView attachment 288652
my main takeaway from derm is that sarcoptes mites kinda look like the millennium falcon

Why did y'all do this to my Star Wars?!?!?! I won't be able to unsee this!!!
When does it come out again? I usually take my mom to see the Star Wars movies a few weeks after they're out and have to explain to her who everyone is and what's going on each time lol. It's a fun traditionI want you to know that I'm torn between the laugh emoji and anger emoji. Well played.
Also, seeing Episode IX at the earliest showing within an hour's driving distance of my house. Literally walking out of my first day final, going to work for a few hours, then going to the movie theater for my spot, and studying in my spot with my binder until the movie starts.

I’m pretty sure she’s going to tie me up after finals and force me to watch them all
You've seen the original trilogy! Or at least the first one. That is why we started rabbitingmy classmate is having a Star Wars themed wedding and it’s physically hurting her that I haven’t really seen them

Huh... my hubby would kill me if he read this, but I had no idea there was another one coming out right away. Can you tell I've been otherwise occupied? lol Thanks for saving me from his disappointment!I want you to know that I'm torn between the laugh emoji and anger emoji. Well played.

I hate hate hate toxicologytwo more exams
I have crammed so many god forsaken toxin info words into my brain that I think I’m going to explode
We go next week too. Final today, quiz tomorrow, then a final per day next week before two weeks of sweet, sweet freedom.... Help! This is the time of year I'm grateful for the block scheduling as I don't have any more tests than normal. However, I still feel like I'm drowning because of all the extra assignments from the adjudicative classes even if their not graded. (Third year is special like that). Then I feel guilty about feeling stressed with my relatively light schedule. Oh the joys of human psychology! Lol good luck on finals to those who still have them! Just two more days!
I am so impressed by that surgery and story for the seal. How dare you complain!!!!The problem with cramming this stuff is that it's all fundamentally interesting but I just don't have time to think about it, let alone care.
One of the lectures I watched today had the cutest fur seal with neuro issues, and the professor was like "look at her face, pleading with you to help her... she's asking "will u help me feel better?'" ...and the treatment was a sweeeet surgery...
But I was like "sorry sickly fur seal, no time for you because this lecture is staying on 2x"
Complaining about seeing really cool life saving procedures for animals = a new low for me
There were 6 lectures hours about plants, and 1 lecture hour about mycotoxins. On the final, 5/12 plant related questions were about mycotoxins! GrrrI hate hate hate toxicology

She seems like a pretty cool dr. Well done, Tufts.

Now I feel like I need to find time to see the movie for context lol![]()
Here you go!
Done! No more lectures for me 😀
I'm fascinated by those shunt surgeries for hydrocephalus now - got very close to getting to see one in a calf before he developed other issues. Really cool.
Hopefully it stays patent for her long-term. One of the things that was mentioned when we were discussing the calf was that it's not uncommon (in people) for the shunt to fail over time and have to be revised.
My brother went and saw Attack of the Clones (‘tac clones) for his 5th birthday partyIf anyone tells me that The Last Jedi is the worst Star Wars movie, I'm going to demand they explain to me how Attack of the Clones is better. This is hard to watch![]()
it was released on his birthday hahahaMy brother went and saw Attack of the Clones (‘tac clones) for his 5th birthday partyit was released on his birthday hahaha
You’re only 5 years older than him batsI didnt realize I was so much older than your brother!

Pretty sure he saw that for his birthday party that year tooNot going to lie, I was thinking of Revenge of the Sith when I wrote this, which came out in 2005, which would make me 8 years older.

My first rotation is VACATION. 😳 My next is an externship. And then my first at OSU is hospital based theriogenology.😢We finally got our schedules for clinics and my first ever rotation is food animal therio. Not sure how I feel about this because therio was not my jam, I’m not exactly a LA person (I want to do some work with small ruminant pets) and I actually wanted hospital-based (mostly SA caseload). It’s gonna be an adventure, that’s for sure.![]()

😎I want my rotation schedule back, not just because I want to schedule externships, but also because I want to be able to fill in my signature here on SDN with an up to date list of everything I’m doing
it’s the little things, right?
