Interview invite for october 18th!

Anybody have any specific interview questions? I heard from a fried that they asked what he thought about wikipedia, who stands to lose the most in the new health care plan, and they grilled him about his grades.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

when i interviewed, one person had read by file and one person didnt so they basically asked questions either pertaining to my file or anything that i brought up when they asked me the "tell me about yourself" question.

also, i think some of these questions that seem really random are all in context to the interview discussion. there was one question they asked me that i was able to answer because of my experience but is a question i could see as sounding really out of nowhere for someone else. so when people mention some weird questions they were asked, it was most likely a question that was more relevant for that particular applicant

hey guys, I have an interview for October 8th, however i think I want to reschedule for a later date (hopefully late November or early December). Does any1 know who I should call to ask for a schedule change?

Nice, i don't think I could handle the wait, but the phone call was quite a nervous moment in my life. I wouldn't want to be the person telling a bunch of nervous ppl they are rejected/waitlisted.

i guess it also depends. there were some question marks on my application that they really wanted to address during my interview. but i think the biggest thing is that they want to see if you'll be a right fit for PBL.

def waited for the letter too for that feeling and also cuz i started hearing a lot of people getting waitlisted. i didnt want to hear it over the phone. it also didn't help either finding out the letter came in while i was at work and that it was a regular sized envelope - made for a few nervous hours

Why don't you call LECOM and tell them you are having trouble. They may have some recommendations for you, or could help set up something.

Just looked at my status and a decision has been made. The mail needs to to hurry up, I don't wanna call either cause I don't want to hear if I'm waitlisted over the phone .

They normally have a large waitlist and it normally moves fairly well from what I've heard. Last year the waitlist didn't move much though at the end of the cycle. Someone said that they took 20/30 people who were on the waitlist in December during their first round of acceptances off the waitlist but I'm not sure I believe that they had that few people on the waitlist at that time.

Start asking your family friends or even personal Dr's that you have visited in the past, shadowed, done any type of work with if they know anybody who is a DO that would be willing to meet with you. I'm in the same boat...trust me the runaround is exhausting, but hopefully it's about to pay off soon. I've gone so far as to show up very early dressed nicely with my PS & resume to see if I could get a chance to speak with the Office Manager (probably the best person to go to first since the Dr's tend to be so busy)...So it's possible! 20 out of 30? That sounds great. I was thinking it would be around 20 out of 40 or so. That makes me feel much better, as this is definitely one of my top choices.

What also makes me feel better is that I just the actual letter (I found out I was waitlisted on the phone), and the way it is worded makes getting on the wait list seem a little better. It says "Congratulations! We are glad to be able to offer you a position on the alternate list".

Actually what DbDan meant was 20 or 30, which is out of 50 remaining on the waitlist. So they probably put a lot more on who end up withdrawing after getting in other places or decide not to play the waitlist game.

It seems that Bradenton has rejected/waitlisted a few people but Erie seems like it has accepted a bunch of people, but they also have way more spots to fill. Either one probably isn't anywhere near full yet probably around def they will be getting near and starting to get really picky.

I was recently accepted to UMNDJ-SOM, which is one of my top choices. I will be canceling my CCOM interview and will now only attend the MD interviews I have.

This letter is to advise you of the status of your application to LECOM Bradenton.
The Admissions Committee has reviewed your file and a decision has not yet been made regarding an interview. The Admissions Committee will meet to review your application within sixty days; you will be notified of their decision at that time.


Not sure what this means....should I be upset, happy it wasnt a rejection, or remain neutral? Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks!

This happened to me at AZCOM. They made the point that this is not a bad thing, it just means exactly what it says. Stay hopeful, update with classes or new activities and LORs from them. See it as a glass half full sort of thing; they haven't decided to reject you they just haven't yet decided to interview you.

1. The email they sent says I need to have submitted my committee LOR and DO LOR by the interview date. I thought we were just supposed to submit the committee LOR? I don't have a DO letter yet!! Is this accurate, or do I just need to submit my committee LOR before Nov. 10th?

2. How would I go about asking if I can move my interview date? Reason is because it's on a Wednesday... middle of the week. I can't afford to miss any classes, especially since Tuesday/Wednesday I have labs. Do adcoms frown on moving interview dates? If not, what do ya'll suggest I do?

I don't know about number 1.

2. Just ask them. I had one of my interview dates moved, and all it took was a 30 second phone call to their admissions office. If they have an open date or two, they'll let you know. If not, you are stuck on your date. But it won't hurt to ask.

And I doubt adcoms care about you moving a date, and I doubt that they will even know...the only one who will know that you moved the date is the one who actually schedules the interviews at his/her computer. And I believe that that person is usually not involved in the decision process.

My status never changed to "under review". It went from the app processed to getting an email for interview.
Hope that takes some stress away🙂
