LECOM's a very practical choice based on their heavy emphasis and care for the student's performance on the boards and out on their rotations. A few notable things in this regard is that LECOM students routinely score higher on the NBME shelf for anatomy than the national average (something Dr. K is very proud of) and that our faculty submits more questions for the COMLEX than any other osteopathic institution in the last breakdown that I've seen. Dr. K also sits on the board review committee to select which COMLEX q to use for the board exam for that year.
As far as dress code, badging in and out, and gym hours.. it's true but it's subjective as to how negatively you wish to view it. There is a reason behind all three which the administration will tell you at one point or another if you guys matriculate as MS1s at Erie. Compared to the practical things that Erie has to offer like low tuition (even more important now that subsidized loans are being abolished), very solid preparations for rotations, flexible rotations, great board scores, three seperate learning pathways, very cheap cost of living, etc. etc. it wasn't a hard choice for me to make personally.
Best of luck on your decisions for those awaiting them.
