LIU c/o 2027

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In state acceptance! I cant believe this! My dream came true. To those with lower GPA’s don’t worry! My first time applying with a not so stellar GPA and I got in!

Are you guys receiving these at the same time or minutes apart? Wondering if they’re done for today and I shouldn’t be checking my email like a maniac

so they must be done today with sending out offers congrats to everyone accepted though 🙂

Mine was 10:09 central which I think is the same as all these other time zones 😂

Does anybody know a rough estimate of how many people have gotten accepted so far? I'm really hoping its no more than half the class 🙁((

I emailed LIU this morning but haven’t heard back yet, and probably won’t since they’re busy with releasing decisions. I don’t want to call them and have them annoyed with me so I’ll just be patient

Same I feel so stressed this sucks :/ but congratulations to everyone else that got accepted!!!

OOS acceptance, email also came at 11:09 EST! Interviewed 1/16, congrats, and good luck to everyone!

Is anyone unable to activate the LIU account or is it just me?

Please keep us updated with anything you hear. I interviewed 1/16 so getting nervous now 🙁

LIU doesn’t require physics right? I still have to take another semester of Physics but if I go here then I don’t have to!

Manifesting more acceptances are sent at 11am. Congrats to everyone accepted thus far im so proud of you guys!! You did it!

Did anyone contact the school to see if there are more waves of acceptances coming out/how many? Or if they are done?

I emailed them yesterday but I think calling would speed things up. I already called two times previously about other questions so I don’t want to bother them again

I get it! I contacted them too much myself as well 😂

At least you got an interview. They still have not alerted anyone else of the status of their application. This is disorganized and honestly disappointing for a school that was one of my top choices

A lot of schools are doing that unfortunately, not just LIU. UPenn has been sending out interviews/rejections and acceptances and I and a bunch of others still have heard nothing since submitting

The whole idea of doing things in waves is all around just stupid to me. It makes much more sense to do all acceptances at once, rejections at once, waitlists at once. I’m not sure where the idea came from to do waves but it sucks and is sloppy.

In all fairness though, UPenn has expected dates posted and have been using the same rolling admissions process that they have been for multiple years whereas LIU has been flying by the seat of their pants with how they are working this cycle.

Schools need to just be transparent about where you are in their decisions process as much as possible, they are causing mass confusion doing things without structure

They just replied to me about the application timeline, it doesn’t really help much I know it’s frustrating but hang in there. Honestly calling seems like the best option because they didn’t really answer my questions

i know the whole process is frustrating but again we have to remember, LIU is a much newer vet school. unless i am mistaken, they haven’t even had a class graduate yet. They are likely still trying to figure out what works best for them and what doesn’t. And much like other vet schools, they likely just don’t have the staffing or time to give as many updates as they would like. I haven’t heard back yet either and sure it’s annoying but patience is key.

Has anyone that has gotten in accepted their offer? Or are y'all waiting to hear back from others still?

Still waiting to hear from 8 schools (4 that I interviewed with, 1 that I have an interview scheduled with, 1 that I don’t know if I’ve gotten an interview or not yet, and 2 that don’t do interviews). And I’ve been rejected without interview from 5, and accepted to Ross and accepted for January and waitlisted for Fall at SGU. But I’m honestly just happy I’ve gotten the LIU acceptance since it’s the only US one I have so far and I have a lot of family near there so I’d be super happy if that’s where I end up. There are lots of factors I will have to consider though if I’m lucky enough to get other acceptances in the US.

I'm only waiting for Iowa State and LIU but if I get accepted to LIU, I am immediately accepting 😂 I've already made up my mind

Awesome! I'm still waiting to hear back from 3, 1 I have an interview scheduled for and 2 I do not know if I have an interview or not yet. I was just curious to see how everyone else was weighing out their options. LIU is my first acceptance and I am really leaning toward going there even before hearing back from the ones I have left. I still will wait to hear back but I just wanted to get some thoughts from other people.

Do you mind me asking what sold you on LIU vs Iowa, I didn't apply to Iowa so they are not who I am waiting to hear from but I am kind of in the same boat, more and more I am getting sold on LIU and just wanting to accept my offer.

I just got an interview with UPenn, but if I get into LIU, I’m also accepting ASAP lmao

I already got rejected from my other 2

I'm still waiting to hear from UPenn but as the weeks go on with nothing from them my hope is dwindling lol

I prefer LIU’s curriculum, I like the distributive model for the clinical year, I like that as a new school I can help with setting up the experience for future incoming students. I also happen to have close relationships with one student at each school so I’m living vicariously through them haha. I also heard a lot from an Iowa student about the recent increase in the attrition rate, so I’m a bit worried on that. Even though LIU is provisionally accredited at the moment, the faculty and education so far from what I’ve heard seems promising

I’ve heard from a lot of students that the biggest/only downside of going to LIU is the cost of living. Otherwise people have been pretty satisfied with the curriculum/professors/etc. And it’s nice having labs and equipment that are all still brand new as well.

How are you guys dealing with the stress of waiting for an acceptance? I feel like I’ve been so anxious waiting that I’m having a hard time getting anything done and I spend all my time checking my email and SDN I’ve gotten accepted to two schools so far (RVC and SGU) but I’m really trying to stay in the U.S. so I don’t have to do long distance with my bf 🥹🥹 I feel like the waiting game is literally eating me alive Currently still waiting to hear from LIU, Ohio, Iowa, and Penn

I’m in the same boat. I’m waiting to hear from 8 schools still and the mental anguish that I’m in right now is insane hahahahah. I just want to know already.

Same! I’ve heard nothing but the best things about LIU. Even though COL is high, I think overall I want to attend a school that is a better fit for me

I'm feeling the same way, all my options left are OOS and tuition wise are the same if not more than LIU, the major difference being COL. Everything I have heard about LIU makes me feel like it is the right fit for me and that I will enjoy my time there. Also, I have always wanted to live in new york for some period of my life even though that isn't a major deciding factor for me at all, it is still there in my mind.
