LMU C/O 2028

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
they release interviews in waves. Usually, on Tuesday mornings I have noticed. They still have not filled the spring cohort so do not lose any hope yet this is just the beginning!
Thank you so much!

Here is an update on facebook group numbers: Currently at 52, 2 of which are admin. I think there are some people that have an acceptance deadline of 10/25. Hopefully more emails will go out as people decline. The goal is around 100.

I have my interview tomorrow! Super nervous about the MMI format, especially with the scenarios being vet med based.

You will do okay! The questions were fairly simple, just tackle it using the same approach like any other situational judgement test

Got a straight up rejection today, I was never even invited for an interview…1st rejection of my 2nd application cycle.

Keep your head up! All it takes is one yes!

Good luck to everyone interviewing! I interviewed earlier today, and feel okay about it. I will say that the prompts weren’t necessarily difficult, but they were definitely thought-provoking. I don’t feel like you can adequately prepare for the types of scenarios that they ask about, and there is definitely no “right answer.” Don’t stress too much!

Does anyone know how many seats are left to fill for the Spring (January) cohort ...or if their plan is to completely fill Spring before even considering Fall applicants...?
olsonvet said the FB group is approximately 50. If not everyone joined the group, I think a good guess is like 45-65 seats (margin of error guess).

Edit to add, fall offers won’t start until the spring class is “filled.” Meaning, most seats claimed except for folks who get offers elsewhere and then decline. Likely 90-95% of the seats filled and we may then see invites (a guess).

Timeline wise it’s likely Dec-Jan is the earliest fall offers may go out (unless spring fills sooner).

Best case, mid-Nov IF_ big if!_ spring is filled by eh end of October? I think it may take later if only bc folks may get interview offers this month that they wanna wait and hear from other programs.

has anyone who interviewed received a rejection, or does it seem like those wouldn't go out until they're making fall cohort decisions?
has anyone who interviewed sent a thank you email and did you receive a response?
yes, overthinking to the max this evening

Overthinking but an understandable thing. Usually folks who interview are not seeing denial notices until closer to the closing of the cycle. LMU has rolling admissions so folks get offers all the way to class start (if folks drop for another program).

If you’ve interviewed give yourself some grace and time.

After my interview, I sent a thank you email and CC'd the interviewers that I could remember, but I never received a response though 🙁

So I applied for the spring back in June and I haven’t heard anything, when I asked a couple weeks ago about my application they just told me they’re still handing out acceptances but I never got an interview offer or a rejection letter. Would they still maybe consider me for fall or does this just mean I didn’t get in. Sorry this is just making me super nervous right now.

I applied for both and is offered a seat for spring but they did mention I can choose to extend my offer till fall. Will definitely double check with them
Thank you for the reply. Has your portal status changed? from "submitted" to "accepted"?

I just received my acceptance for the spring cohort. I am in complete shock. I am 38 years old and had to put my dream on hold 15 years ago due to health problems and surprise twins. I can't believe it is finally happening! Congratulations to everyone else that was accepted. Woohoo!

for all of you still waiting to hear, I had my interview on oct 12th.

Spring acceptance! (Not with the option to defer until Fall as some others have seen)
Submitted 9/12, Interviewed 10/11, accepted 10/20 (deadline 11/3 for deposit)
Good luck and positive energy to everyone still waiting!

My portal hasn't changed. I received an email with the acceptance and the portal still says under review.

I thought we could either accept spring, or choose to go back into the application cycle for fall. Like I thought you could only defer to next Spring (Spring 2025).

“ Your offer of acceptance is valid for the class of 2028 (CO2028) SILVER cohort; classes will begin in Spring 2024. If you applied for a starting date of the fall 2024 semester, please note that we wish to extend this earlier offer of acceptance due to your suitability to our academic program. “
Here’s what is said in my email… I don’t know if if I interpreted it correctly but I’m also emailing them for clarification

Okay yeah that confused me too but when I messaged Holly this is what she told me. I just didn't know if something had changed.

"This acceptance offer is for the spring 2024 semester only. The matriculation fee is due by the timeframe specified in your email. You can opt to decline this offer and be placed back into the applicant pool for the fall 2024 semester if you prefer that option. Please note that no acceptance is guaranteed for that start date.

My first interpretation of that is that they know you specified interest in Fall, but are extending an offer for Spring anyway because you’re eligible and they want to see if you’ll accept with the other option being returning to the pool for Fall? I could be wrong but that seems to be the idea that’s been consistently put out there

Here's a quote from the email I got from Holly.
Thank you for your email. You will have two options at this point regarding your acceptance offer. You can opt to decline your seat and then be placed back into the applicant pool for the fall 2024 cohort or you can request a deferral that would allow you to join our January 2025 class. Which of these options do you prefer? Please let me know and we can proceed accordingly.
Also @Gangar#094 do you happen to have any information regarding the applicant statistics for Spring semester from 2022? AVMA only has the class of 2022 Fall available on their website. I've seen around that the 2023 NAVLE was harder all round for almost every school stats-wise, more than likely attributed to COVID learning, and with LMU, are the people who've taken the NAVLE that year coming from one particular class, and/or retaking?

I did ask about the pass rate for the NAVLE when I toured earlier this month. They replied that they have and upper 80% near 90% pass rate.

Congrats to everyone accepted today!! I interviewed Oct 9 and am still hanging onto a pipe dream to get a spring offer 🥲

Hey so I interviewed Oct 11 but have not heard anything. However I only put I was interested for fall and not spring so should I be worried at all because I know ppl are getting offers for spring? I feel like I read someone say they only put fall too but also got an offer to spring so that’s why I’m a little concerned now

I interviewed 9/18 and feel this, I listed myself as Fall-only but am technically eligible for Spring and am not sure if I like my odds in the larger pool if I’m not chosen from the smaller one. We’ll see though!

In the ambassador q&a zoom today the counselor said you may not hear until all the way up to the semester for spring (January) and fall (august). She said no news is more often good news in this situation, more likely they’ll send a fall invite.

Have people who only listed fall only gotten invites for spring as well? I feel like I heard someone say that but I could be making that up

Regardless if you specifically chose Fall, they see you as a great applicant for the spring cohort and will extend the offer to see if you are interested in starting sooner than later. If you haven’t heard back either after the interview or haven’t received an interview, don’t panic. No news is good news. You are being reviewed and still have a chance.
