She did do a wolf brag in DRoP when we were wolves together, as some others pointed out. While I can see where you're coming from, I am just not getting as many feels from PBC as I expected to, mostly because when I was a wolf with her in that game she kept all of her enthusiasm in the wolf chat and kept most of it off the thread to avoid suspicion.

That's cute, but ..... it's obviously evasive, obviously not based in any reason (remember, I asked 'and why'). So that answer just makes you look more wolfy.

Hi, I'm here. Sorry my browser's being a pain in the ar5e and keep freezing on me. I had a whole big write up about why I was and wasn't lynching whom, with diamonds and very apologetic flowers, but I don't know think I'll get time to write it up before I'm throttling my damn computer again. +pissed+

Anyway, I am going to lynch @dyachei, and that is only because I think dyachei is the one who is least likely to be lynched in the first round. I'd just really rather be able to have people around for a little bit longer so I can learn more before I start stringing people up. Sorry dyachei, I'm going to hand you one of my noose garlands with much apologies and really hope for your not death. :shy:

We generally have role names and abilities that mean something, so leaning on people until they tell them and moving along is a valid tactic. A lazy one, but it works in early game and a lot of them have no huge penalty for revealing roles (beyond giving wolves info to work with for cover). Until we have games that de-emphasize the role side of thing it's going to keep working like that. :shrug:

I don't disagree at all, I just think it's stupid. Why bother playing the game? We could all just role reveal at the beginning and whoever has the sketchiest role gets voted. And then some mod will say "haHA! I know! I'll mess with their minds" which has been done a few hundred times now.

It just gets old. People need to play the game the way it was intended - based off of hints, suggestions, tells, and reads. Not "Uhhhhh..... no info, so I'm gonna RNG the game away or force people to role reveal."

I really LIKE that JDH has started prohibiting role reveals.
 
Zooters did reveal, they gave me a role name, and a little bit about their ability. Not enough to verify villager, but sort of matches mine.

My issue with AM is that she is much like LOTF in that when I am really suspicious of them it makes me not suspicious of them at all because they both play in a way that sets off tons of wolf alarms in my head. I've personally lead a bunch of lynches against AM because I was so dang sure she was a wolf based on play style and I was always wrong. I'm suspicious of her again this game and it's making me feel that she's likely a villager because she's been playing to her usual style thus far.

For now the person I feel best lynching is zooter, but I think that's a flimsy lynch too IMO. I haven't got very strong feels on too many other people though. My lynch may be going zootsuit's direction, give me a bit to read back through thread though.

That's one of the reasons for asking people to talk about what they're reading and how they're interpreting it. Forcing them to talk more - and commit to how they are interpreting something - builds down the road.

Yeah. Day 1 is always gonna be horse****e. But there's no reason it can't be a foundation for Day 2, Day 3, etc.
 
I am here now. At dinner with my dad and trying to read too. I wanted to lynch here and there but then read further and didn't what to lynch those ways anymore. For the moment

PBC revealed to you, and you still think there are decent reasons to lynch her? What are they? Did she phrase it in a way you find less than believable?

Never apologize for lynches! WW is a bloodthirsty game and if you want to get information you have to be willing to get your feet wet (with people's blood).

Would you believe that I often change my vote later in the day as more discussion occurs?

I've had exactly that post restriction so yes, I believe you are. It sucks, I remember.

But *shrug*. It is what it is.

You could *easily* have explained your vote when you made it. Then I wouldn't have had to call you out.

Someone's getting lynched, let yourself have a say in it, use it to your advantage. Lynching is our best way to get info. Have fun with it!

So Finn always votes #11 on D1?

Just think about it. Let's say we all did something like that. LIS always votes for the first person in the line-up whose name begins with A. Finn always votes #11. Dyachei always votes for the last person to sign up. Etc. etc.

How much do we learn D1 doing that? We might as well just skip Day 1 and randomly have the mods lynch someone.

I will always vote against people who use some sort of 100% uninformed voting technique because it's lazy and in the long run it hurts villagers.
 
If PBC isn't the best lynch right now, I suppose I can switch, but I really hope we're not letting a wolf get off the hook.

Do you know I just find some of things she said to be weird? Do you not think, for example, her comment about a lack of a wolf brag had weird timing?
Do you know that I'm not saying I necessarily agree with the reasons but that I can see the logic behind them?
Do you know that her reveal seemed perfectly logical but I would never claim to 100% sure of village status based on that alone?

Do you realize I'm sorry that question asking is apparently contagious?

This is why I'm having trouble with a lynch on day 1, yes I know it's part of the game and I'm kinda bumbling my way through at the moment, but if you lynch people with game knowledge out of the game then you don't get to read interesting strategy hints like this, or other discussions that give you more of an idea of how to play the game (besides reading endless amounts of blogs on strategy this, and strategy something else). I sat in on and lurked at the last game on here, but it's not the same as actually playing, now we're in a whole new ball park. At least with people like you, and Trilt, and others, you have reasoning and sense about the game and your approach.

Yes. There is very definitely a chicken/egg problem that can't be solved. But you have to start SOMEWHERE. That's why the reasons are pretty flimsy getting going - but the more you start rolling with them, the more you have to work with. Whereas the more people just throw some stupid auto-lynch vote (RNG, favorite spot in the roster, whatever), the less you have to work with.

I already agreed with your second point (about piling on one person only). In fact, I said as much.

I'm just trying to encourage people to actually PLAY.

Do you know people vote at random at the beginning of day one all the time? Do you know that whether they use RNG, #11, a joke from a previous game, or just scanning the list and picking someone out it always starts random? Do you realize there is no information at the beginning of day one? Do you not think it's a little ridiculous to pick on me specifically for something everyone does? Do you know if we all waited until there was information to lynch, we'd likely be waiting all day because no one would say anything?

Do you not see that my vote changed as there was more discussion on the the thread? Do you realize if I hadn't placed my first vote until later in the day I may have skipped the random vote? Do you not see that I am not actively attempting to lynch someone with an uninformed technique but rather using it as a springboard for discussion?

Edit: Again I must ask, do you not realize I was the first vote of the day period? How are you suggesting I should have decided my vote?

Yeah, I know. It just feels so mean though, especially on someone's first day. I know it probably won't later on. I guess I'm just used to playing completely in character, and being out of character is something totally separate for me, and here I know I'm kind of slipping into table topping mode to a degree but it still doesn't feel like to the level I'd be in character mode if I was table topping - I'm finding it was far easier to blast someone into the netherworld when you're not actually playing yourself. This is like a strange combination of both at the same time. I'll get used to it, I'm sure, took me a while with VtM so I guess I can't expect things to make sense on my first day of play. 🙂

Well, it's pretty clear to me that I'm not wanted in this game. I've been PMing with kaydubs and am not going to pay any more attention tonight and will consider in the morning if I want to keep playing.

Watched his latest game, I'm a huge fan of that rule. Hopefully it'll float over here soon.

A vote doesn't have to be the first thing someone/anyone says in the game. There can be ALL SORTS of game discussion before anyone throws a vote, if people wanted. Then there is a chance to have a reason for the vote.

You came in, posted "lynch so-n-so," and vanished. From my perspective, that's not helpful and looks sketchy.

Since then - as I've already posted - you've said some other things that shift you more from neg to pos in my book, but..... I really don't like the PBC vote (in spite of her completely ducking my question) because it feels just a titch too much like a dog pile. So I'm leaving my vote where it is until I see a better place to move it.

Thanks, I'm trying. I had a strategy all worked out, sort of, and I was trying to watch for hints and tells in certain responses from people, but then I went to bed and woke up and my brain was all sleepy and not caffeinated.

Based on what we told her it's probably not similar abilities but rather a similar theme to how the abilities work, if that makes sense.
 
@dyachei I meant what I said before, I do think you're one of the most experienced and best players here, and I do really want you to stay for that fact (I went back and read through some old games before starting this one and you and the others I listed before always seem to know what you're doing, or you have an ability to reason the game through. I don't know what's happened, but please reconsider leaving the game. 😍
 
Oh please, LIS. I thought your question was in jest and I replied to suit. I wasn't trying to duck anything.
