I got an email that said my deposit was received, it just doesn't show up as so on the portal. It'll probably work itself out, I'm just anxious to get in place for the site I want. But yeah it's definitely not a bad problem to have! 🙂
 
Completed my application on 07/19. Didnt hear back from the school. Any suggestions?
 
MCAT just came back as worse as it possibly could have been. Would this be a case to send in an "update letter" on their secondary page to explain?

Shinobiz11: I am very sorry about the outcome of your mcat. I would not send schools an update trying to explain your low score. Frankly, there is no explanation an adcom would accept for the score you received. I am not trying to be a troll, I am just giving you honest advice. Personally, I would sit this cycle out study very hard for the mcat and retake. You really need at least around a 24 to be competitive at most DO schools. Best of luck to you and your application cycle.

I'm so sorry, Shinobiz! I feel like this could be me on Oct 15 when I get my score back. I would say go for it this year except for the MCAT subsection cutoff. Study hard and definitely reapply. You can do this! 🙂

I feel ya. Not eating for weeks and months when I was sick with hyperemesis gravidarum(which eventually led to a PEG tube after I lost 20-40 lbs) definitely hampered my mental skills. Not eating also did crazy things to my entire body from being too weak to walk and eventually too weak to roll over in bed toward the end. I definitely gained a better perspective of what starvation is like in third world countries or in times of war or famine. This is a different reason for not being able to eat, but I can understand that it is rough even if you could eat later in the day.

Do you have a blog? I remember coming across a blog with a similar story awhile back, and I was thinking how inspirational that person's journey to medical school is!

Its finally showing up as received. I called and apparently they were having problems with the new system.

It's been an amazing last three years since my family has begun this journey. I hope that it helps others (students, parents, those with hyperemesis) overcome their challenges and know that they're not alone.

Called them today and they don't take MCAT's after September, so unless they have any love for my 18, I guess I'm done here. 🙁
 
I noticed that on my application status, next to letters of recommendation it is blank. I have the green check mark, but the actual spot next to it has nothing...on my document status it says my letters are received and lists the right ones. Is this how everyones is and I'm just being neurotic?

Yeah, I was sad last year when I learned that they don't take the January MCAT. I was in the hospital then and couldn't take the summer/fall ones. Next year, you'll rock this! 🙂

Yeah, right now, I'm just enjoying your guy's excitement but once my MCAT arrives to MSU, I'm going to be a mess every Thursday this year, lol!

+1 to that. I sit in class and stare at my phone/email all Thursday long. Definitely an unhealthy habit.
 
I dont see a lot of ppl posting on this thread. admission may have called some ppl who are not here.

The worst? Hmm. They ask for me for my name or track my phone number to my application and reject me!! Highly improbable though. I'll take the chance.

I met with an advisor a month ago, and she told me that they take into consideration the way you talk on the phone with their ppl into consideration when reviewing applications
