Got a call today! I didn't have my phone on me though, and they left a voice mail. I called back and left a message, does that mean they will probably call me back tomorrow?

They actually just called me back and so it's official that I got an offer! wooo! haha 🙂

Here's my stats: 3.4 GPA, 33O MCAT, in-state, non-trad (did software engineering). I think I had about 800 hours of volunteering. I should also add that while I did have shadowing experience, I don't have any DO shadowing experience and didn't get a letter from a DO

I submitted the secondary app on 7/30, but I don't think I had my letters in until later in August, like around August 20th
 
Got the call around 11!
3.5/28 with 1500 volunteer hours
So so so so excited! Back to my alma mater I go!
 
Hey guys, I checked on the MSUCOM portal, and found out that I was alternate listed. Slightly disappointed, however glad that it wasn't a rejection ! Any idea on the movement on the alternate list for Canadian students ???

My stats are 3.4 cGPA, 3.4 sGPA, 31 MCAT (10-10-11) , Canadian student
 
I really wanted to go to the open house today, but my mom is sick and can't watch the kids. Bummed out. 🙁

This is the first I've heard of the alternate list for this year. Did they e-mail about it, or did you just happen to see it on the portal? And you're right, alternate is better than rejection. There is still hope. You've got great stats! 🙂

Sorry to hear that! What is the alternative list? Is it equivalent to the waiting list?

That's not necessarily bad news, keep your head up because those are great stats! Did you see it on the application status page or the communication status page? They sent out emails last year for the alt list
 
Apparently I was wait listed as well
I checkered the portal and the response form for alternate list was there.
Very disappointing.

I'm not sure i've seen too many. I am OOS (from MA), accepted a month or so ago with a 3.6, 30Q. I am getting the runaround from them about possible OOS scholarships so it's looking very doubtful i'll further consider it here without a guarantee I'll have lowered tuition before the deposit is due. I just could not swing spending that much in tution and fees...
 
What is the portal? Do you mean the secondary application log in page? And where on that page did you see that you were waitlisted?

Yes the application login. And it's pretty obvious when you log on because there's a whole another tab that says alternate list and response form. It won't be there if you aren't wait listed.

I called MSUCOM because I wanted to get some information about the wait list, and admissions was surprised that I had the option for wait-list, saying that it seems to be a technical issue, so I sent her a screenshot of my account, I will keep you all posted as to how this wraps up.

Hopefully we were actually accepted and there was just a mistake in the system 😀

Really? Hm yeah it does seem weird so many of us have that on our portal as if now. I am in-state but I would be interested to see if it's really a mistake. I'm with you, I hope it was an acceptance 😉

My portal is the same. I hope that it is a technical issue for you guys!

So I called her again, and she told me that she is forwarding it to technical support, and I will get an email about the resolution of the issue. She said that as far as she is aware that no one has been wait-listed as of yet, so there's that . Could go either way I guess
 
Is the problem fixed? Did not see such tab in the window that I submitted my secondary.
 
Macomb was awesome. That small community feel that I very much enjoy. All the employees were super nice and chill. Dr. Naughton was really cool and funny, and the case presentations at the end were cool too. I'm gonna work my butt off to get in next cycle.
For those who were there, I was the guy with the red scarf (Ace).

Okay guys I got a call back from her, she was very kind and helpful, and it was in fact a system error, and that no wait lists have been handed out yet. She said I could expect to hear about an admissions decision before December 1st. Ah well, carry on with your days I guess 🙁

Thanks for checking up on that! I hope that the December 1st deadline goes for others too, especially those of us that have been complete since July -_-

Thanks for the information! Hopefully everyone will have a decision by then. I mean I'm glad I'm not wait listed and there's still hope!

No problem ! I hope so too, I've been complete since end of July as well, quite a long wait. Fingers crossed for the good news ! I don't want to do SGU, I got accepted but it is such a risk. I applied to Georgetown SMP and am hoping to hear from them too over SGU.

Would be ecstatic with MSUCOM, I have been constantly hoping to hear something every Thursday/Friday for months now.

yeah same here..even if I was accepted.. I wouldn't be able to go unless I can get scholarships to lower the tuition..it is ridiculous.

Does putting my deposit in earlier help at all for getting my preferred campus location? I'm gonna go to the tour in East Lansing on the 22nd but I was wondering if it would be better to put my deposit in ASAP

Do you happen to know how many acceptances do they plan on offering? The class seems pretty full.

LOL! I got this from wikipedia (so don't blame me if the information is wrong), but it said ~300 students per class. If you are a Canadian, then 25. But schools usually give out more acceptances than they have spots for, so I don't think it is as full as you think.

Thanks..yea I was actually looking for the total acceptances they give out..if its about 300 student per class..I'm going to guess that they give out around ~500 acceptances...if anyone else know for sure, please correct me.

Yeah - from the students who are at DMC (I went to the tour on Friday), I believe its ~300 seats. Around 150 at East Lansing, and around 50-60 at Macomb and 50-60 at DMC.

The Stats are higher than the last email! AHH!

Hey Guys,

I went to the "See the Sites" Event for Detroit last Friday and the Dean stated that they can not go above 310 for an entering class because of accreditation guidelines. He also stated that they are looking to expand that number for the next application cycles due to an increased in interest in the school. I also spoke to the director of admissions and she said that people will be assigned to the waiting list around late December and no one has been assigned yet.

Loved the school, my first choice (but I'm an underdog). Good Luck everyone!!!!

I went to the DMC tour as well and loved it too! Yay underdogs!

At the tour they said there will be about 320 people in our class.
