Gonna be there October 23:pigeon:

Did you get a complete email and what not at least?
the last email I received on 7/15 just said that my secondary was submitted. I never got a "complete" email but my app shows that they have everything

Did you check your secondary application "communication status"? It is under Status tab. There should be an email like this:
Dear XXXX,

Congratulations! Your application file is now complete. The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Admissions Committee meets regularly to review applications throughout the admissions cycle. When the review process of your application is complete, you will be notified. We expect that the process will continue through mid-Spring. Feel free to check your application status at anytime within the application system.

If not, I would recommend you to call them because I received this email the same day as my application was marked as "completed" (7/15)

Can anyone state if they allowed a pen and paper while reading the MMI to make notes? and whether if the MMI situation was noted inside the room ?

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge beyond what I've been able to dig up. I'm OOS, and have an interview here coming up. However, I was just accepted to one of my top choice schools, and am trying to decide if I should still go to this interview. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there are ways to make tuition reasonably affordable for OOS? At this point, there's no way I would pay this tuition over the other school's, even if I were accepted, but this is a great school! I didn't do great research on cost before applying....Thanks for any thoughts!

For those of u who interviewed, what did you choose to wear? Would a Black suit w/ Cuff-links be a little bit too much or is it fine?

I am a bit nervous to be honest.

Go with something navy if possible; don't think cuff-links would be too much. I didn't notice anyone that had them though when I interviewed

That's perhaps a bit formal (don't think I've seen anyone with French cuffs yet), but would be fine. As long as you're wearing a suit & tie your interviewer won't give your outfit a second glance... unless it's powder blue... or plaid... or something totally bizarre. They have other things to think about. 😉 Best thing to do is not be too informal.

There are scholarships available for OOS but not every student, and may not be for entire 4 years. Don't anticipate scholarship as a source of income/tuition cut, ever.

thanks! that's what I had gathered, but just thought I'd check on here 🙂 Probably will be giving my interview slot to someone else.

No cufflinks. Light-colored dress shirt, conservative dark tie (not black)

So are most people right now getting acceptances since it's early in the application season? There are a lot more people on this forum who said they got accepted than waitlisted.
There are more spots available because it's so early in the cycle but I think most people just don't race to SDN to broadcast getting wait listed or rejected. Also a lot of applicants also aren't on SDN.

That makes sense. Do people get rejected? If I remember correctly, Kathy said people will either get accepted or Waitlisted
I'm not sure. I was just talking about SDN in general not just MSU when I said rejected, sorry.

Does anyone know whether if MSU acceptes preqs taken on pass/fail?

I too did not get an e-mail or communication message but my materials shows that I am complete. I e-mailed them to double-check. Will update.

I recently paid the application fee, but it didn't show up on the portal. I can't submit the application. Did this happen to anyone else?

I had this happen to me. This occurs because after paying the fee, you might have closed out of the tab or the window instead of clicking a link to return to the secondary application portal. The payment usually goes through but you should call them and have them change the status and confirm your payment as well.

Thank you! I just e-mailed them.

Hey MSUCOM, can I get an II???

Congrats!! When was your interview??
I interviewed on 9/11, so it took about 2.5 weeks for me to hear back. Also, I guess this blows our Tuesdays/Thursdays for acceptance calls theory out the door haha.

FYI, when I spoke to the woman on the phone this morning, she told me that they are a bit behind schedule in reviewing files from the last interview date due to illnesses as well as due to preparations for the next set of interviews coming up on Wednesday.

Looks like the chance of acceptance is getting slim. They only notified the waitlist/rejection after the accepted.
I mean for 9-11ers

Wow.. accepted. Didn't think I had a shot at this school when I applied. OOS though, gotta consider that tuition. For those accepted, anyone know the deadline for the deposit? Not able to see it. Interviewed on 9/11.
12/4 is the deadline
