As of now it's January 26 (not sure if they might add a couple more!).Anyone know the last interview date?
Yeah, I was wondering about that too...It doesn't look like there is a specific time when they send it out based on the past two emails...but it would make sense for them to send it out before the week of Christmas. When will there be a December email update?
I looked over the limited info MSUCOM sent and I googled common MMI type questions just to get a feel for them. I realized there wasn't a super good way to prepare and the best thing is to be yourself. I know that sounds cliche but it is the truth, you'll be fine. For any of you that has been accepted or believe your interview went well, did you do anything specifically to prepare? This is my first interview and I do not know what to expect.
lol thanks Doc, I got a hotel room and heading up the night before also. I am located in Macomb and don't feel like driving the day of. I've been looking over the MMI questions and I also took a look at MSU MD MMI information since they have been doing it for awhile.I looked over the limited info MSUCOM sent and I googled common MMI type questions just to get a feel for them. I watched the Lions preseason game the night before and relaxed in the hotel. Probably the best thing I could have done lol.
I was really excited and paid my deposit as soon as I got accepted bc I wanted the dmc site but I was placed in East Lansing. What are my chances of getting off the wait list for the detroit site? I'm really disappointed bc I applied to msucom specifically because of dmc site.
Hi when I was at dmc site there were someone in the same situation that asked and the answer was the waitlist has more movement around March because that's when people move off the waitlist at other schools too. So I would think hold tight until March and also the site filled up like the morning of Nov 20. So your still quite early if your placed on the waitlist. On a whim I'd think you'd have a good chance getting into dmc site 🙂 good luck!

When I visited the DMC site the second year students said there was still a wait list to get into the DMC site for their class!Hi when I was at dmc site there were someone in the same situation that asked and the answer was the waitlist has more movement around March because that's when people move off the waitlist at other schools too. Can any current students speak on MSUCOMs curriculum? Specifically regarding the fact that it is year long with the only breaks occurring around holidays?
This seems to differ from others schools who take the summer off and/or take weeks off between semesters. Does this make courses more manageable?
Well, realize that the last two interview days currently scheduled are the two in January, so it's possible there may not be any future days to interview if you can't make your day.Have an upcoming interview in January that I won't be able to make. How is admissions office with regards to rescheduling?
Does this mean that MSUCOM probably won't send out any more interview invitations?Well, realize that the last two interview days currently scheduled are the two in January, so it's possible there may not be any future days to interview if you can't make your day.
Can't say for sure... but I would guess that they're about done sending out invites and, after these interview days, will focus on pulling from the waitlist as seats become available.Does this mean that MSUCOM probably won't send out any more interview invitations?
I heard that last year, MSU was taking people off of the waitlist up until June before classes began. Isn't most waitlist movement after April 30th, because that's when people have to commit to just 1 acceptance?
I'm just gonna periodically give update letters with some solid transcripts.
If we don't receive an update today, I guess they'll send out the Dec update in January
Also, I thought the WL letter said that if you hadn't received an acceptance by April 1st, you should try for reapplication? But I also heard a ton of people got in right before classes started, so this was worrisome.
Dmc is much more competitive as its only about 50 seats and highly requested. I believe it's already full this year. Macomb is only 50 as well but seems to be the last to fill. East Lansing is easier to fill as it is the rest of the class of ~200.How hard is it to be placed at the DMC and Macomb campuses vs the EL campus?
Anyone heard back from the Dec 11th interview group? Just curious.
Thank you!!!@cafeverona I will post if I hear anything from the WL!
I was in the same group too, pm session. Hopefully from next week they start calling us. GL to everyone ...I was in the same group as you and I haven't heard back yet. I remember hearing them say to give them a month + 1 week (for the holiday break) to get a notification.
In the Facebook group, there is a whole document for students to share housing options and people looking for roommates!Whats up friends! For those of you who are also accepted do you think you will be looking for a roommate freshman year? Most medschool students I know didn't have a roomate their first year because they didnt know anybody.
Just received II!! I couldn't believe what I saw! I thought it was another mass email that surprised me! Does anyone know if class is full or not? (Am I interviewing for a waitlist spot)
They've been wait listing people since the beginning of the cycle, so there's no way to tell if the class is full and you're interviewing for a wait list. Since the timing of the interview has nothing to do with it. Even if it's filled this is one of the few schools I'd say to go for it even if you get wait listed since the wait list moves up pretty fast. Almost all tier 1 wait listers end up getting in.Just received II!! I couldn't believe what I saw! I thought it was another mass email that surprised me! Does anyone know if class is full or not? Do they tell you if you are tier 1? How do they determine the tiers? Is it GPA/MCAT based? They've been wait listing people since the beginning of the cycle, so there's no way to tell if the class is full and you're interviewing for a wait list. Hey,Wow, congrats! When were you complete and your stats if you don't mind?
They tell you which tier you're on and how good your chances are of getting in. Which is really nice on their part. Teir 1 has a I think a 90% chance tier 2 was like 50:50 and tier 3 they tell you to apply again next year after meeting with a msucom advisor. So they really try to help you out no matter what ends up happening after the interview. If you enjoy the school I think you should go for it, the interview itself is a fun experience.Do they tell you if you are tier 1? How do they determine the tiers? Is it GPA/MCAT based?
Do you remember where 90% chance tier 1 came from? They tell you which tier you're on and how good your chances are of getting in. Which is really nice on their part. I'm not really sure what the tiers are based on. Pretty sure it's based on your interview performance and the overall application.
We asked during the presentation what each tier means, and Katherine told us each tier percentiles. I could be off at the percentage, but if you're tier one she said you have extremely good chance of getting in. In the wait list email the send they also tell you what your chances are, maybe someone who was wait listed could elaborate more based on what their email said.Do you remember where 90% chance tier 1 came from?

any recent update email from Jan or Dec that someone can copy & paste? Apparently those on the waitlist do not receive the monthly updates in regards to number of acceptance, number of deposits....
