I was complete on 7/20 as well, but no "3rd email" of complete like everyone is talking about. Hopefully it'll work out!I was complete on 7/20, II received on 7/29.
Anyone else complete around the 12th that hasn't received an II? I'm hoping it comes this week, but I'm getting nervous. Perhaps I'm just overreacting.
Interview invite.do you mean secondary or II? II = interview invite.
Been complete since 6/30... CricketsAnyone else complete around the 12th that hasn't received an II? I'm hoping it comes this week, but I'm getting nervous. Perhaps I'm just overreacting.
N=1, but my good friend applied last cycle with a 3.83 gGPA with a sub 3.0 sGPA and 3.0 cGPA. The grad GPA brought her overall to like 3.0 and 3.1, and she was admitted. I think they see the grad GPA as something that gives them confidence you can handle medical school and will usually move people like that onto the interview stage if everything else is what they're looking for. This is what Ms. Snyder relayed to me a few months ago as well.

You might want to email them again about that. I received the complete email right after I submitted my secondary. Is there anyone with an II that did not receive the "complete" automated email?(but was complete in the portal obviously)
Will do, thank you!You might want to email them again about that. I received the complete email right after I submitted my secondary.
For those who reapplied, or are reapplying, how did you tackle the secondary? MSU's secondary is ridiculous. It feels like a primary app without course work or PS input. Did you rewrite everything? Thinking of doing that secondary again gives me a headache, honestly.
How much copying from my old secondary would be considered excessive? I'm sure I didn't get in because of my very late application and low mcat, which is why I want to use some of my old prompt answers.
Nobody is going to have the answer to that on SDN. The admissions committee at MSUCOM reviews the apps. What is the evaluation process for determining who gets an interview?
I got in last year as a reapplicant. I also applied way too late the first time and it killed me (I learned when I talked to admissions). As a fellow reapplicant, I would like to know this too...any thoughts?
Canadian; just did
I rewrote everything. My reasons for wanting to do medicine haven't changed but my perspective has and I wanted to use my recent experiences to communicate my desire for medicine. I also think it looks poor to submit the same or even highly similar material in you application. The way I see it is that whatever you submitted the first time didn't work, so why would you expect a different result this time? But that's just me. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?So for Reapplicants, did you rewrite everything?
I only tweaked the PS a little, because my reasons for medicine haven't changed a whole lot, and the different aspect this cycle is that I have a year of Grad school grades to add on with more LORs.
For secondaries, I'm redoing those entirely from scratch pretty much.
Today, about 3 hours ago
And if you don't mind me asking, when were you complete @tskiihiiNo, I meant what date is your interview? Is it August 19th?
Hmm, it says my application is complete on the status bar, but I never got the "communication status" update saying I was complete. I submitted 7/21 and am a little concerned I haven't heard one way or another. No, chose sept 29

Can I ask what were your stats?I submitted my secondary and received the completed status on the same day; try calling them?
Stats?Canadian; just did
I think it was about 6hrs last year.Got an email today confirming my interview - sounds like it is going to be a full 8 hours. Didn't it used to be just a half day in the past? Does anyone know if the interview format is strictly MMI?
I don't think previous applicants can disclose this type of information. I would prepare for both scenarios.@DrPatriot are the MMI's interviewer based or actor-based?

^this. We all had to sign non-disclosure agreements so I can't give you specifics. Just read through common MMI style questions and you will be preparedI don't think previous applicants can disclose this type of information. I would prepare for both scenarios.

You definitely should rewrite or modify all of your essays and apps to reflect new experiences and volunteering. Don't be lazy and just copy everything from last time, they will notice (this goes for all schools). Got to put the work in for the reward.
For those flying in and need a ride to campus, my dads company will give you a 20% discount.
If you use us going up, on the way back, we can do a shuttle (as long as there's 3 or more people) and have everyone ride back down together. Also, if you're driving yourself or taking a meter cab/Uber, I-275 (the main highway out of the airport) is closed, there's an annoying detour so your prices and drive time will vary a lot.
I think metro cab charges around $154. We'll do a flat rate for $120 + parking on the way there and on the way back will be $50 a person (minimum of 3 people). I figured, this way, everyone wins!

I had my app in before AACOMAS officially sent them out....so I submitted sometime in MayHi @DrPatriot if you dont mind my asking when did you apply the first time? Curious as to what is considered way too late
Has anyone else submitted around 7/21 and not heard anything back yet?
Same, was complete on 07/20I was complete as of July 19 and have yet to receive a response if that's any consolation
Sorry! This is for Detroit Metro AirportWhich airport? Capital Region International is 22 minutes from campus. I'm surprised it would cost $154.
7/8 and nothing so farHas anyone else submitted around 7/21 and not heard anything back yet?
Oh sorry...the first time I didn't submit until like Oct I think...way too late in my opinionHi @DrPatriot if you dont mind my asking when did you apply the first time? Curious as to what is considered way too late

People will typically fly into Detroit since the Lansing one is not exactly a busy location. I'll also mention that the Michigan Flyer is another option for transit to/from the airport. http://www.michiganflyer.com/Which airport? Capital Region International is 22 minutes from campus.
